Beauty in the blogging world has evolved so much even in the two short years I’ve been blogging myself. Back in 2015 when my blog was just starting out, I used other bloggers as inspiration on where to buy the best beauty products, how to apply them and it was great. Fast forward to 2018 and the face of blogging has changed a lot! Not only are bloggers sharing content and reviews of beauty items on their blog but Social channels like Instagram are more important than ever!
I didn’t start blogging because of Instagram but the honus rests heavily with the Social Media Channel in modern day blogging. Now, instead of a look on a face, it’s more about photos and curated snaps of the products. I personally love this and have been working really hard to follow suit and try to get my Instagram page to where it needs to be to match the amazing competition out there.. but it’s totally changed the way blogging, bloggers and the actual promotion and buying of products goes..
So, I’ve decided to dedicate this post to BUYING with an unsung hero: World Duty Free
Now, I am not going to patronise you and talk you through who World Duty Free are and where you can easily, if not that regularly, shop with them.
We all know that Duty Free is the first place you stop at at the airport before your jolly holidays. It’s the one stop shop for everything beauty, skincare, suncare.. you name it, they’ve got it!
I personally LOVE Duty Free; my boyfriend and I spend agesss in their Heathrow shops before our yearly trip to the sunshine and buy all sorts of bits at a lower price than the high street.
But did you know that World Duty Free are online and now all over the ‘gram? Yep! In fact, the way I found out about this was from other bloggers. I saw some gorgeously laid out snaps of beauty items, fragrances and more and had to follow the bread crumb blogger trail to find out where these beautiful items were from!
Seeing all of these beautiful beauty images, I had to get involved!
The World Duty Free Beauty PR team are a dream to work with – they deserve all the praise for finding the best items suited to bloggers and influencers and they know exactly what’s hot too!
I am a beauty addict at heart. I am also a budget blogger. I have made no secret of this during my time on LoveRosiee and the girls at World Duty Free Beauty knew me well too!
I was sent these two products to review and give an honest opinion of and also to try and capture some lovely snaps of!
My Instagram blew up when I published snaps from both Benefit and Carolina Herrera which made me so happy, as you can imagine!
But my life got better when I realised how amazing the products are that I was sent!
First up, let’s cover the New York Pills..
Scents inspired by New York City (the place at number one on my list of where to go next!) that hope to emulate the city that never sleeps! Each bottle is designed beautifully with metallic lids and that classic pill shape. The three scents flow together really beautifully with a floral undertone and a musky high tone that is light and fruity. Rose is my favourite and not just because of the packaging!
The scents have a LOT of staying power and work from day to night really well! I love the floral aromas that aren’t sickly or stick in your throat! The woody and musky undertones perfectly highlight the light lily scent and if you close your eyes, each of the three scents transports you to a summer holiday!
These three scents have already taken over my everyday perfumes from the likes of Ted Baker and YSL and they stick around a lot longer too! A little goes a long way and you aren’t stuck in a cloud of perfume when you go over board!
Beautiful scents housed in beautiful metallic iconic bottles that are super easy to buy with the amazing World Duty Free Beauty!
When it comes to make up, I’m fickle. I know which budget brands work for me and I know which high end brands I can properly invest in! Benefit have never been a brand that I’ve run towards. I see them all over my feeds, Hell, I see blogger waxing lyrical about them on a weekly basis but I never seem to make it over to their section in store. I am always tugged away by the Nars or NYX of the make up world, not to mention the lower end of the scale that I just know I can depend on.
Well, I had to shut my mouth when I tried out Life’s Little Correctors. For a low price of around £20, you can erase those dark circles, hide the redness and blotches and brighten eyes!
The formula of each item is perfect on even my driest areas. They don’t stick, matte or rub in awkwardly only to have a terrible finish and make your flawless look flawed! Easily workable and really buildable and I’ve found that, being a Basic Barry on a standard work day, you don’t even need to apply make up on top of most well blended areas!
I am yet to dress this look up for the evening but I have full faith that it’ll stand the test of an evening of cocktails, dancing and many trips to the bar!
