Welcome back! You lovely lot LOVED my first instalment in the Ultimate Nars Face starting with the base and all the best products to use, from Nars, on your face to create that flawless look! I am back with round two: Lips! I can’t wait to share with you my picks from the new Nars Spring Collection for lip care, lip looks and lip lovin’ – even if you weren’t blessed with lips like a certain Miss Jenner! Step behind the scenes with me and the gorgeous Becci from Nars and Fenwicks on how to get that Nars look for lips and how to make your lips look bigger and fuller using the new Spring range!
Ultimate Nars Face | Lips!
First of all, let’s step into the new Spring collection and all things Lip Covers. These beauties are amazing! I’ve tried Nars Lip Glides before and thought they were literally the best thing since sliced bread! I’ve got all sorts of red Lip Glides and they have been my go-to lip products for ages!
Then I found the new Lip Covers!
From left to right I have shades:
These are all items from the new Spring Range and they are insane! As soon as I saw these in store, I HAD to swatch them!
Before we even cover how best to apply, can we just talk about pigmentation!? These Limited Edition Lip Covers are crazy pigmented, are velvety smooth in application and in formula, ridiculously moisturising and gloriously thick and shiny!
Ban those matte lips for the forseeable guys, it’s all about luminous lips!
Let’s cut to the chase shall we? I’ve never really been a pink girl and before visiting Becci at Nars I was never a red girl either. However, that woman is a friggin’ magician and can take the biggest nay-sayers (me) and turn them into lip lovers!
Here’s the “not really a pink girl” wearing the beautiful Summer Fire on her lips and LOVING IT! I am here in Fenwicks with the famous MAGICIAN herself, Becci!
These Lip Covers apply so easily and the staying power is second to none!
Your lips will be left feeling moisturised and cared for – compare that to a well known brand’s famous matte lipsticks that will dry out and eventually damage your lips completely!
I adore the pink and metallic tones in Summer Fire. On paper I was seriously dubious about its coverage, whether it would make me look too made up and silly. Once my lips were lined with Cap d’ail Precision and Summer Fire glided along my lips, I felt like a Queen! My lips looked healthy and Becci shared a secret with me on how to give the illusion of a larger pout!
When applying any sort of lip colour, let it settle. Then use either a lighter pigmented shade or a tiny bit of concealer on the centre of your lips, almost as an ombre effect. Let it blend naturally and it will give a very convincing impression that your lips are bigger.
This is Nars all over, instead of highlighting, strobing, contouring, Nars are all about adding dimension and showing off the parts of your face that the light would hit naturally, making you look more natural but using the tools amazingly!
Sculpting your features and enhancing your dimensions is the Nars way and one I use in all my make up application!
Just to prove that the Limited Edition Lip Covers aren’t a one hit wonder, here I am trying them out myself at home, with no hints and tricks from Becci and I still absolutely adore the look of them!
On the left I am wearing Under Arrest, a peachy beige tone with some faint rosy bases. This colour is not what I’d usually go for at all but I tried it and I friggin’ love it! It’s so smooth to apply with great coverage; and with all Nars products, a little goes such a long way! I love the almost golden metallic tone of it and I actually think it suits my paler skin!
On the right I am wearing Hell Gate, the reddest of the Limited Edition range. It has very dark cherry influences and it brdges that pink-red gap that I love! It’s a really versatile colour that could work for both day and night and it is incredibly long lasting! I managed to get through a whole bottle of prosecco with friends before I needed to reapply!
The wand is long but not crazy wide, the wand bounces back into place ensuring you aren’t saturated in the product!
What I love the most about the new Limited Edition range is both how long lasting and how diverse they are for all skin tones. Nars has become very inclusive in beauty, it’s new foundation range houses 33 different pigments and these styles, while in paper you may think wont suit you, are so versatile and high quality that I dare anyone to see if they don’t find the one for them!
Stay tuned for The Ultimate Nars Face | Eyes which will include the incredible The Wanted Palette!
