When it comes to nail care and nail colour goals, it all starts with the skincare in my book. Mavala were kind enough to send me some very nourishing hand creams and moisturisers to pair with this post and I really enjoyed pampering my hands along with my nails.
Moisturising for your hands is so key for so many different reasons – I never leave the house without an SPF on my hands, when you start to age, your hands are often one of the first places to betray you. Your hands are forever exposed to the sun, pollution and stress so it’s key to make sure that they are looked after even more than ever!
The Mavala Aqua Plus range is a strong step up from their many deliciously thick hand care creams!
The thickness, texture and smell of hand creams is a key buying factor for me. Anything too scented can lead to a headache; I work in a an office, typing away at a screen all day so I steer clear of anything that leaves a sticky or oily residue. I’m also fussy and want something that is as close to the texture of mousse as possible – nothing too watery or with a slack consistency, it doesn’t feel enough for me on my hands!
The gorgeous Aqua Plus range from Mavala is the best compliment for all of my wants and needs. It ticks the boxes time and again. The difference with this cream (against so many that I try and that, sadly, just don’t hit the spot) has got the be the luxurious add on of the Hyaluronic Acid!
The Aqua Plus range keyword for me would be: MELTING!
That may sound odd, but honestly, it melts into your hands.
A huge bonus for this cream is how instant it is, unlike some of the competitor hand creams, there is no need to warm it up to loosen it up and make it go further.
This is something that I got into the habit of doing with all of my creams – hand, body, face, night – but the Aqua Plus range doesn’t require it. A little goes a long way, it’s instant and it is super soothing.
I would go as far to say that the Aqua Plus Mavala range is the best handcare solution I’ve tried to DATE!

I was lucky enough to be sent the Autumn range from Mavala which included many berry colours, muted autumn themes and even some pops of glitter – perfect for Christmas!
Autumn now seems like a long time ago, and I’m not too unhappy about that. However, I think that the Autumn range is easily transferable to the February-almost-Spring time that we straddling right now. The berries are gorgeously rich and deep in colour and pigment.
The texture and durability of this range is also excellent. Patience and control is key with any application of nail polish – even with the likes of top brands like Chanel and YSL!
The thickness is great and the entire range is chip proof – being an office bod by day and a blogger by night, my fingers are always tapping away and my nail polish is always the first to suffer. However, even with a crazy few month ends and target pushing weeks, the Mavala Autumn range stood the test of time!
