10 Best Pumpkin Patches in and Around Berkshire to Visit This October 2026

Is there anything better than pulling on your wellies, grabbing a wheelbarrow and heading out to choose the perfect pumpkin?

October is officially my favourite time of year for family days out. The leaves are turning golden, there’s a definite chill in the air, and suddenly everything involves pumpkins, hot chocolate and trying to convince the children that they definitely need the enormous pumpkin that they can barely carry.

If you’re looking for pumpkin picking in Berkshire this October, I’ve rounded up some of the best pumpkin patches in Berkshire and just beyond. From magical woodland trails and pumpkin festivals to traditional farm patches, there are plenty of lovely options for a proper autumnal day out.

And yes — wellies are absolutely essential.

🎃 1. Wasing Pumpkins & Woodland Trail, Aldermaston

If you’re looking for a pumpkin patch that feels a little bit magical, Wasing is one to put on your October list.

Set within the beautiful Wasing Estate near Aldermaston, the experience starts with an enchanting woodland trail before you reach the pumpkin patch, complete with a rather gorgeous fairytale pumpkin carriage.

There are woodland creatures to spot, a wishing well, a Witch’s Apothecary, giant mushrooms, a fairy garden and plenty of lovely photo opportunities along the way. Then, of course, it’s time to choose your pumpkin to take home and carve. I’m also told that you’ll find spooky smoke bubbles on the trail – a big highlight for Jack last year!

There are also seasonal treats and hot and cold drinks available, making this a lovely option for a crisp autumn morning or afternoon.

If you want to see what Wasing’s amazing trail and patch looks like, check out my reel from last year.

2026 dates: 16th–18th October and 23rd–31st October.

📍 Aldermaston, Berkshire

Perfect for: A magical autumn day out with younger children.

🎃 2. Hobbledown Heath Pumpkin Patch, Hounslow

Okay, technically Hobbledown Heath is over the Berkshire border, but it’s close enough that I couldn’t leave it off this list — especially if you’re in East Berkshire. We visited this weekend and it was AMAZING! The best day for families to get into the spooky season! Check out my early release content!

The Hobbledown Heath Pumpkin Patch is back for 2026 and is much more than simply picking a pumpkin.

Expect rows of pumpkins, seasonal games, photo spots, marshmallow toasting, food stalls and entertainment. You can also combine your pumpkin patch visit with a full day at Hobbledown Heath’s adventure park.

And if you fancy something a little more magical, Pumpkin Nights take place on selected October evenings, when the patch comes alive with lanterns, entertainment and marshmallow toasting after dark.

2026 dates: 25th September–1st November, with Pumpkin Nights on selected October evenings.

📍 Hounslow, West London

Perfect for: Families who want to make a full day of it.

🎃 3. Clara’s Corner / The Walled Garden, West Wycombe

The Walled Garden in West Wycombe is one of those places that is just beautiful in its own right, so add pumpkins into the mix and you’ve got a pretty dreamy October day out.

Their Pumpkin-Fest returns throughout October, with pumpkins, hay bales, hot drinks, seasonal treats and plenty of lovely photo opportunities, all surrounded by the Chiltern Hills.

There are also pumpkin patch mini photoshoots and special children’s activities taking place throughout the month, including mini pumpkin sessions at Rosie’s Petal Patch.

It’s a particularly lovely option if you’re looking for something a little more relaxed and picturesque rather than a huge farm attraction.

2026 Pumpkin-Fest dates: selected dates from 17th October through Halloween. The Walled Garden

📍 West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

Perfect for: Pretty autumn photos, little ones and a slower-paced family day out.

🎃 4. Hallcourt Farm, Midgham

If you’re after a proper pumpkin picking farm near Reading, Hallcourt Farm is definitely worth a look.

Their pumpkin experience combines pumpkin picking with a Wild Woodland Walk, bale play, outdoor games and plenty of spooky extras. Once you’ve chosen your pumpkin, you can head into the Halloween barn to carve it — which is ideal if you don’t fancy having pumpkin guts all over your kitchen floor!

There are also photo opportunities, face painting and other activities available, depending on the day.

The pumpkin patch is set across a large field, so prepare for a proper muddy farm adventure. Wellies and waterproofs are very much recommended.

2026 dates: selected dates from 17th–31st October. Tickets are booked in timed arrival slots, with pumpkins charged separately.

📍 Midgham, near Reading

Perfect for: Kids who like a little bit of spooky fun alongside their pumpkin picking.

🎃 5. Odds Farm Park, High Wycombe

Odds Farm Park is always a winner if you have children of different ages because there’s so much more to do once you’ve picked your pumpkin.

Their annual Pumpkin Festival includes pumpkin picking, carving stations and all the usual farm fun. Paying children receive a free pumpkin while stocks last, which is always a nice little bonus.

There are also Pumpkin Family Nights in October, with entertainment including stilt walkers, fire shows, bubbles, LED performances and more.

And because you’re at Odds Farm, you can spend the rest of the day visiting the animals, playing, exploring the adventure areas and generally wearing the children out.

2026 Pumpkin Festival: Pumpkin Weekends every Saturday and Sunday in October, with additional family nights and October half-term events.

📍 Wooburn Common, High Wycombe

Perfect for: A full family day out rather than just a quick pumpkin-picking trip.

🎃 6. Berkshire Farm Girl Pumpkin Patch, Newbury

If you want a proper Berkshire pumpkin-picking experience, add Berkshire Farm Girl to your list.

Based at Rookery Farms near Newbury, the pumpkin patch is run by farmer Eleanor Gilbert and is set on a real working arable farm.

As well as picking your pumpkin, you can explore the themed maize and bale trails, tackle the big bale maze, enjoy bale play and pedal tractors and stop for refreshments at the farm cafés.

There are some lovely little extras too, including a golden pumpkin carriage, Halloween props, photo opportunities and a pumpkin carving area.

The pumpkins start from £1, and wheelbarrows are provided — always useful when your child inevitably chooses the biggest one available!

2026: Open on selected dates throughout October.

📍 Newbury, Berkshire

Perfect for: A traditional farm day out with plenty to keep the children entertained.

🎃 7. Copas Farms, Cookham & Iver

For those in East Berkshire, Copas Farms is another great option for pumpkin picking. Fun fact: this is the pumpkin patch I used to visit as a child every summer!

Their Fruit Fields locations at Cookham and Iver open for pumpkin picking throughout October, giving you the chance to head into the fields and choose your own pumpkin.

At Cookham, pumpkin picking is available on October weekends and during the final week of October, while the Iver site also offers pumpkin picking.

It’s a nice option if you want something that feels like a traditional pick-your-own farm experience without necessarily needing to spend the entire day at a larger attraction.

2026: Pumpkin picking is available on selected October dates, including weekends and the final week of the month.

📍 Cookham & Iver

Perfect for: Families looking for straightforward pumpkin picking in East Berkshire and the surrounding area.

🎃 8. Crockford Bridge Farm, Weybridge

Another one for those on the eastern side of Berkshire, Crockford Bridge Farm in Surrey is well worth the short trip.

Their pumpkin fields open from 4th October 2026, with a huge selection of homegrown pumpkins and squashes in different shapes, colours and sizes.

There are photo opportunities and quirky installations around the fields, and if you’re visiting during half term, they go all out with their Wonderland Pumpkin Festival.

The 2026 festival runs from 24th–31st October and takes families on an immersive Wonderland-themed adventure, complete with actors, entertainers and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

If you’re happy to venture a little further from Berkshire, Hadsham Farm near Banbury is another brilliant option.

Their Pumpkin Festival is packed with things to do, including pumpkin picking, carving, a spooky sensory trail, a pumpkin bale maze, a goblin hunt and even a pumpkin catapult!

Yes, you read that correctly. A pumpkin catapult.

There’s also an indoor sandpit, outdoor playground, café and marshmallow toasting, making this another good choice if you want to turn pumpkin picking into a full day out.

2026 dates: 17th–18th October and 24th–31st October.

📍 Near Banbury, Oxfordshire

Perfect for: Kids who like their pumpkin picking with a generous helping of chaos!

🎃 10. Money’s Farm, near Hook

And finally, if you’re based around the Hampshire/Berkshire border, Money’s Farm near Hook is a lovely little option.

They grow organic pumpkins and have a drive-by pumpkin stall throughout October, but if you want the full pick-your-own experience, there are specific PYO weekends.

You can choose from different varieties and sizes, including carving pumpkins and mini munchkin pumpkins.

2026 PYO weekends: 24th–25th October and 31st October.

📍 Mattingley, near Hook

Perfect for: Those who want to pick their own organic pumpkin without making a huge day of it.

My Tips for Pumpkin Picking

If you’ve never been pumpkin picking with the kids before, there are a few things I’d definitely recommend packing.

Wear wellies. Even if the weather has been dry, pumpkin fields can get very muddy.

Take layers. October weather is famously unpredictable — you could have glorious sunshine one minute and freezing rain the next.

Bring a wheelbarrow if the farm doesn’t provide them. Or prepare yourself for carrying a surprisingly heavy pumpkin back to the car.

Book ahead. Many of the pumpkin patches now use timed entry, and popular October weekends can sell out.

Check whether the pumpkin is included. Some attractions include a pumpkin with admission, while others charge for your pumpkin separately.

And finally…

Don’t stress about finding the perfect pumpkin. Let the kids choose. Even if they come back with a wonky green one the size of a football when you had your heart set on a beautiful orange pumpkin.

🍂 Which Berkshire Pumpkin Patch Will You Visit?

There are so many lovely places to go pumpkin picking in and around Berkshire this October that we’re genuinely spoilt for choice.

Whether you fancy a magical woodland trail at Wasing, a traditional farm experience at Berkshire Farm Girl, a full day at Odds Farm or something a little more picturesque at West Wycombe Walled Garden, there’s a pumpkin patch for every kind of autumn-loving family.

Now all that’s left to do is choose your date, dig out the wellies and get ready for pumpkin season! 🎃

Dates and prices can change, so I’d always recommend checking the individual attraction’s website before travelling, particularly if you’re planning your visit during October half term.
