Halloween is creeping ever closer – and I couldn’t be more excited! The clock struck midnight on September 1st and, like magic, our Instagram feeds filled up with pumpkin patch selfies, pumpkin-spiced everything and the cosiest Halloween décor. It’s my favourite time of year, and this year’s post has had a glow-up too.

I’ve refreshed it for 2025 with some infamous spots that everyone’s talking about and my top toddler-friendly picks so you can make a full family day of it. Stay ahead of the trend and discover my newly updated list of pumpkin patches near London!

1. Wasing Estate – Berkshire’s Fairytale Pumpkin Escape

• Location & Dates
  Nestled near Aldermaston, Wasing Estate is hosting its annual “Pick Your Own Pumpkins & Woodland Trail” event on selected dates between 17th–31st October 2025 . Be sure to buy your tickets now, this pumpkin patch and woodland trail is always a sell out!

2. Odds Farm Pumpkin Festival – A Family Favourite near High Wycombe (Just outside Berkshire)

  Situated near High Wycombe, this popular festival runs weekends from 4th–19th October 2025, plus 25th October–2nd November—ideal for both Pumpkin Weekends and half-term family visits.

3. Tulleys Farm – The UK’s No. 1 Pumpkin Festival (Sussex)

  Though slightly further from Berkshire, Tulleys is unmissable for autumnal lovers craving scale, festivity, and a sense of big, immersive fun. 4. Crockford Bridge Farm – Surrey’s PYO with Boutique Vibes

• Availability
  Open for pumpkin picking in early October (select dates, usually 4th–19th October 2025) with required advance booking. Last year, we went on a weekday with an early time slot. Great for two toddler Mums because it was quiet with LOADS of pumpkins but it meant that a lot of the attractions and extras were not open.

• What to Expect
  Explore home-grown pumpkins and squashes of all shapes, sizes, and colours in the fields. Enjoy fun photo installations, quirky field displays, and a boutique shop once field picking ends.

5. Copas Farm, Cookham

For any Cookham locals, like me based in Windsor, Copas Farm is the perfect pumpkin picking day out.

I visit every year to pick my pumpkins – and plan on visiting very soon, so stay tuned to my Instagram to see how it goes with a very active toddler.

Copas Farm has lots of activities for toddlers and small children including a huge field of pumpkins to pick. You can get lost in their large maize maze, do some arts and crafts in their barn or enjoy walks around the fruit fields.

5. The London Pumpkin Patch – NEW for 2025!

This October half-term, Fulham’s Parsons Green transforms into the London Pumpkin Patch, the biggest Halloween celebration in Central London! From October 25th–31st, families can enjoy a magical day out featuring a 10,000-strong pumpkin patch, a haunted house, and plenty of Instagram-worthy photo ops – from hay bales and farm carts to the famous giant pumpkin and Pip the pumpkin-head. Kids can dive into the 30-minute trick-or-treat adventure, where character actors share “The Greatest Halloween Story That’s Never Been Told” – a brand new children’s book launching at the event. The Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham will officially open the festivities and even judge the children’s costume contest, with prizes including a donation to the winner’s school.

When can you start going pumpkin picking?

The massive pumpkins are typically harvested before the first hard frost, in late September or early October. The rind should be hard and fully colored. Unlike smaller pumpkins, giant pumpkins have very thick stems that are hard to cut. Use a pruning saw or garden loppers to carefully remove fruits from their vine.

How much are pumpkins at pumpkin picking UK?

Pick Your Own Pumpkins is open throughout October. Booking is not required, simply turn up to the farm shop. Pumpkins range in price from £1.95 to £3.50 and are based on the size of pumpkin.
