3 Most Engaging Learning Tools To Help Teach Your Kids

The sooner you start teaching your kids, the easier it will be as they develop into young children who go off to school. It’s about finding the right approach; you don’t want to overawe them with too much, too soon. That’s why it’s clever if you get your hands on some essential learning tools that engage your kids and help you teach them valuable skills. You don’t need to splash the cash for these tools either – here are three that tend to have the most success:

Flash Cards

Flash cards work because they give you a simple way of teaching your children different things. As you’ll see if you click here, you can make completely custom flash cards depending on your educational needs. Do you want to teach your child about animals? Print out some cards with a picture of the animal and its name on the front. What about if you want to teach your child some important words? Print out a few flash cards with those words written in a large font, along with how to pronounce them.

You can have so much fun making creative flash cards to suit your child’s educational needs – and you can make a few to fit with how old they are. When they start getting to the point where showing them a card with a cat on isn’t that helpful, you can have cards with a question or an image on the front, then an answer on the back. Ask your kids, “What’s this?”, and display the image, then get them to answer. It’s a fantastic way to have some back and forth with a child as they develop.

Interactive Books

You should always read books to your children so they learn different things, but picture books are excellent when they’re younger. These types of books keep them engaged while providing visual aids to help them take in the information. Sit your child on your lap and hold the book in front while you read.

Go one step further with interactive books that could include pop-up images, places for your child to pull a tag or push a button, etc. Again, it engages them even more, so they’re more likely to take the information in. Theme the books around key things like helping them develop their vocabulary, learn about different animals, numbers and so on.

Counting Blocks

Speaking of numbers, every small child should learn to count from as early as possible. Number blocks (or counting blocks) are the best learning tool for this. Again, it’s an interactive thing that your child can hold and use to visualise things. This is super important when teaching them basic things like how to count to ten or add one number to another. They visually see one block go next to another block, meaning there are two blocks, etc. An absolute must for developing early arithmetic skills.

There are certain things in life every parent should plan ahead for, and your child’s education is one of them. With these three engaging learning tools, you’re in the perfect place to teach your kids valuable skills and life lessons before they go to school.
