The Best Apps For Blogging

It’s not secret that blogging is something that takes a long time to do – the view of it being all glamorous dinners, events and freebies is now in the past (where it belongs) and I’m pleased about it. LoveRosiee has been around for over four years and I am in no way an expert – if you’ve ever visited before you may know that this channel was started to show off my nail art skills, it soon evolved into a review based beauty and lifestyle space that I am really proud of. But this doesn’t all come from me. There are so many apps and programmes that I use to help my blog stay online and grow each month. Here are the best apps that I use for blogging!

WordPress
I host my blog on WordPress and while I’ve moved my hosting around in the four years that LoveRosiee has been live, WordPress has remained a constant. It has always worked for me and the ease of which you can add plugins, tweak your style and access your blog anywhere and at anytime makes blogging a breeze for me!

There are loads of brilliant free WordPress templates available so you can completely pimp your ride in the way that you want. Back at he start of 2019, I had an entire template refresh with Pipdig and I love this one. The blogging world moves quickly and it’s key to make sure that the look and feel of your blog reflects you in the best way.

I personally like to keep my blog as visual as possible – I love the Instagram band, the ease of seeing a Media Kit on the home page and an introduction to the blogger easy to find!

Twitter
Twitter, I would say, is my favourite social media channel to catch up with bloggers, latest blog posts and brands. Instagram has become a great way to see the visuals of a blog and that really works for many brands, outreach and content creation but Twitter will also be my secret favourite.

Twitter is far more direct and it’s easy to link directly to a new post, an old post and someone else’s post – something that Insta limits you on unless you have 10,000 followers or more. I’m slowly growing to just below 4,000 followers.

Instagram
Insta is so key for many bloggers and it plays a huge part in my own blog successes. It’s a tough platform to get on with at times and it can be tough to see the fake engagement rank so much higher than your organic stuff but that’s the way with Instagram.

Instagram is great for visually created content. I am, proudly, a flatlay blogger and the best way to show that off is to add it to my Stories and my Feed. I love photography, it is such a fun medium to blogging that gets my juices flowing and being able to share it on Instagram with regular Joes and bloggers alike is great. The feedback and comments that I receive also mean that I am constantly honing my skills!

Pinterest
Since being on lockdown and working from home, I have fallen back in love (hook, line and sinker) with Pinterest. Having more flexibility to pin on Pinterest for my home goals, end of lockdown holiday goals and hen party & wedding goals has seriously got me through some very dark days!

Pinterest, as a blogger, gives me a safe place to explore what is popular, what others bloggers like and do and it also gives me a great place to share my own photography, pins and purpose-made content!

The audience growth for LoveRosiee on my Pinterest channel these last few weeks has been insane – I’ll be doing a full blog post to tell all very soon so stay tuned!

Canva
Canva is a great tool to help you build assets. It’s an image builder that is completely free to use (with the many free templates) and it can help you build things like:
> banners for your site
> Pinterest covers/pins
> Social media image features
> blog outreach letters
> media kits

The many things that I have built on Canva have seriously helped my performance, my use of time and my branding. My Media Kit was built completely free using Canva and it is something that goes in front of the eyes of so many brands and secures me collaborations!

Buffer
Buffer is the best tool that I have found to schedule my tweets. Scheduling tweets for your content is super important and being able to do it ahead of time is a massive time saver for me.
The free Buffer subscription allows you to schedule ten tweets at a time and you can tailor the time frame in which they will go live within the app.

This works really well for me as I like to keep my tweets super fresh and evergreen, I used to use Tweetdeck but found that scheduling tweets a month out left my feed feeling curated and kind of out of date. I publish three new blog posts a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. While it’s important to keep your tweets coming through, it’s important that the content is fresh and up to date!

These are my most used apps that help LoveRosiee be what it is today – a blog with fresh, relevant content that features lots of sponsored posts, brand collaborations and guest content. I am really happy with the way in which my blog is growing right now and I use these apps at least once a day.
