I am constantly on the prowl for beauty, new beauty, classic beauty, beauty bargains – the lot! I am completely and definitely a beauty hoarder, my beauty station in my bedroom is bursting at the seams and I can’t seem to stop shopping. I am forever searching online for the next big beauty product! But I am also one of the laziest people you will ever meet, if you’ve ever visited my blog before, you’ll know this. Even when it comes to beauty, I’m lazy! Why isn’t there just ONE place to shop for all the best beauty bits? Why do I have to search and search and search? Well, with the amazing Just My Look, search no more!
Just My Look is THE place to go to for all your beauty loves, inspirations and needs – all in one spot! I regularly scour the site on my phone just to see what I’m missing out on!
They have all types of beauty bits, skincare and bath and body, it even has a candles section and bits for men. I mean it really is just a one-stop-shop for everything beauty.
I have been lucky enough with this post to be able to pick and choose items to review and I just went for it. I know with Just My Look, you can get all sorts of brands – well known and lesser known, and I sort of wanted to cast my net wide. I wanted to try out some products that many other bloggers class as “Holy Grail” and see if I agreed!
I first chose to review The Ordinary’s High Adherence Silicone Primer.
The Ordinary have been around for a while and there was a point when people were going crazy for it! It was everywhere. And I didn’t jump on the hype. Not for any particular reason other than I am always a little dubious when a brand comes crashing on the scene, to see how long it takes until everyone is slating it. Needless to say, The Ordinary isn’t talked about half as much now a couple months after the explosion but there hasn’t been too much panning.
With Just My Look, it was my opportunity to try it out for myself! And, I liked it. My skin has been a little full of breakouts recently – a combination of transitional weather, a new job so new environments on my skin and that time of the month. I’ve also gone from wearing zero make up day to day to wearing at least one product on my face daily.
I started using The Ordinary Primer, it did smooth out my skin quite well. My skin felt nicely hydrated and make up sits quite well on top of it.
The staying power, however, isn’t the best. I mean harsh, right? The product itself costs a grand total of £3.90, it does what it says on the tin and you could buy it and buy it and buy it and get good use out of it. But, if you’re after a primer that has serious staying power – this isn’t the one for you!
I also tried Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara. You may seen me raving about on my Insta Stories recently. It’s one of those beauty products that I’ve wanted to try for the longest time and with Just MY Look I KNEW I would be able to get my hand on the product in it’s full size and with the best looking package – unlike some outlet style stores that send you only minis and the packaging is all beat up by the time it gets to you!
I am feeling quite controversial about They’re Real since using it for about 10 days. Initially I really liked it; I am quite fortunate to have long, naturally curled lashes that have good space between them and my favourite mascara of the moment is Nars Audacious – which I love!
They’re Real definitely defines what lashes you already have but I actually find the formula to be a little bit wet and clumpy on my already long lashes. I know that there is a special knack to applying it and you CAN go overboard and absolutely coat your lashes unnecessarily. But I kind of feel like this mascara is more hype than substance.
Don’t kill me but I am being serious, less is more for me in the mascara stakes and I actually don’t love They’re Real the more I use it.
The final product I picked to review was, shocker, a bronzer. You probably already my love for bronzers! I can’t live without a good bronze to splash around my face and give me a little sun kiss – especially now as we enter deepest, darkest autumn!
St. Tropez 3 in 1 Bronzing Powder is a revelation! I currently use Too Faced Chocolate Soleil as my everyday bronzer and love it! I thought I’d peaked bronzing!
When Hayley from Life Through TSG got into contact with me to say this beautiful looking 3 in 1 bronzing powder is her go-to everyday bronzer, I thought I’d put it to the test!
Ten days in and my skin is singing! My natural tan from my summer vacays is fading by the day and I am on the verge of looking like the real anaemic I actually am with no make up on.
The 3 in 1 bronzing powder from St. Tropez is amazing at layering up my different tones of bronze, brown and sparkle! I use it almost as a base then brush a little Too Faced Chocolate Soleil under my cheekbones to hint at some everyday contour!
Fave product from my haul by FARRR!
