Spa Indulgence | Berystede Hotel, Ascot

Name something we’re all bad at doing? Inclusive of gender, age, race; there is something that all of us do that is terrible. I am the worst for it too, and my beautiful sister is even worse than me! Any ideas?
Self care!
I see you all now, nodding, agreeing with me, even if it’s reluctantly. Self care is so hugely important to making our lives so much easier and we are all absolutely terrible at it! So, I have hooked up with one of the most BEAUTIFUL places near me to show you how easy self care can be!
Come and join me for my visit to the glorious Macdonald Berystede Hotel and Spa in Ascot.

The gorgeous Macdonald Berystede hotel and Spa is a 4 Start hotel set in the rolling hills of Ascot, just twenty minutes from Windsor town centre. It is a slice of rural heaven hidden in a lovely secluded spot with vast and spacious grounds and modern amenities.
The entire feel of the place, as soon as you drive into its massive gates, is the feel of holiday, pure relaxation and a little through back to long, hot summers as a kid exploring woody areas and staying up late with your parents!

I visited the Berystede on one of the hottest days of the year with my beautiful and severely over-worked younger sister. My skin was breaking out, my back was breaking and I was just generally pooped from yet another long week. I felt as if the next time I’d be sat down, it would take me 0.3 seconds till I fell asleep and I know my sister Elle felt much the same!

We were visiting the beautiful hotel for some much needed pamper time – in the form of the pro-cologan facials; and a little treat in the shape of Afternoon Tea on the sun soaked terrace!

The spa at the Macdonald Berystede hotel and spa is incredible. The only word I can use to describe it. First of all, it’s massive. And while it is big in size, it still feels private and intimate rather than clinical and cold.

The spa itself offers many treatments including:

The Pro-Cologan Facial that we tried out
Best foot forward deep tissue massage
Free style back massgaes
Manicures
Pedicures
and so much more!

The spa and all spa treatments are full Elemis treatments with only the best Elemis products used. Elemis are already one of my favourite skincare brands as they help so much with my sensitive skin. While Elemis can sometimes veer into the “treat yourself” end of expensive, all the products I’ve ever used are worth their weight in gold!

The lovely Jazz treated me to a full 55 minute Elemis Pro-Collagen facial in one of their many private rooms purpose built for such treatments and perfectly setting the ambience!
The room as dimly lit with scented candles and mood lighting, the chiming music instantly put me at ease and the confidence of Jazz and her love for the products made me settle into the BEST facial I’ve ever had!

Yep, I’ve dropped it. I’ve said it. There’s no going back. I would honestly challenge anyone to not agree with me. That 55 minute facial included Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm gently massaged into my stressed face and neck; the AMAZING Elemis Marine Cream (which by the way smells incredible); and my favourite part – the Elemis Pro-Collagen Lift Quartz Mask.

During my 55 minute treatment, my face, neck and head were massaged, rubbed and plumped back to their best form. The oils used in my hair made my scalp feel brand new; the Quartz Mask is already on order and will be arriving this week; the gentle cleansing and toning of my skin left it feeling plump, fresh and vibrant.

I’ve often had facials that leave my skin red for hours, I’ve come out of them looking ridiculous and stinging. This time around my skin was literally singing with a glow, a beautiful radiance that wasn’t sticky or oily or over perfumed!

I could so easily have lazily fallen into the most restful sleep after my amazing facial but I knew I had to get out to that beautiful sunny terrace and try out the Afternoon Tea!

I am definitely a bit of an Afternoon Tea officianado! It’s that one day out I manage to have once every couple of weeks and I know my stuff when it comes to the best sandwiches, the correct portions and the fluffiest scones!
I’ll admit that I am simply a jam girl when it comes to scones, but that is just a bonus for the people I’m with – more clotted cream for them!

Afternoon Tea can be much of a muchness – especially if you’ve had them as many times as I had.
But Afternoon Tea at the Macdonald Berystede Hotel and Spa felt like such a treat!
Don

Dom Perignon Champagne, deliciously slow brewed English breakfast tea and healthy portions of classic English finger sandwiches, fruity sweet treats and fluffy scones!

I absolutely loved my visit to the Macdonald Berystede Hotel and Spa in Ascot. It definitely gave me a kick up the butt in self care and how important it is to look after yourself and get treated every so often!

This place looks so dreamy, the Elemis facial sounds absolutely wonderful. I’ll have to look into where my nearest Elemis spa is and give me and my cousin a treat.

Oh I love a spa day, which reminds me I need to have one soon. It’s my sisters birthday soon so perhaps I could be cheeky and book for her and get her to take me. Ha
