We’re almost half way through 2021 (how is that even possible!?) and the beauty trends are coming out thick and fast. I’ve shared some of my top trends in recent weeks but I HAD to share this one with you all. It’s all about embracing natural beauty with this one.. but also getting that dewy look of a … dolphin!?

We all want to achieve that healthy glow, don’t we? Dewy, glowing skin is the goal for many of us. To look healthy, sun kissed and to have clear skin is what some of us can only dream of.
Luckily, skincare and beauty brands are seriously behind this trend for summer 2021!

The Low Down
The latest trend goes one step further than just having a healthy glow. Dolphin skin has been likened to looking like a glazed donut.
While that may sound ridiculous and a little wild, my evening skincare routine actually results in me looking like that just before I get into bed. So, I kind of get it.
How Do You Get Dolphin/Dewy Skin?
There is an easy way to execute this new look that is hot for summer. You need to begin by layering up your primers, smoothing lotions, highlighters and dewy products to give you that sheen like look.
Unlike highlighter trends of recent years, dewy skin does not glitter, it glows. You won’t want to use your trusty ABH palette for this; any hint of purple hue or blue glitter is not the one for this, unfortunately.

What Do I Think Of The Dewy/Dolphin Skincare Trend?
Let’s be honest, I want to look healthy. I like to glow when I have my make up on. Being flawless and my blemishes being smoothed appeals to me.
Having said that, Monday to Friday, nine till five, I’m no exactly what you’d call a glam gal. I’m more of a hair on top of my head, SPF, creams and Mavala’s Apline Anti-Fatigue spray kind of girl. I moisturise and hydrate all day long so that when I go full glam, it all looks good.
I am up for trying out the dolphin skincare trend this summer. When the sun finally makes an appearance, I think it will be easier to execute.
