Fun Date Ideas Now Lockdown Restrictions Are Easing

*This is a sponsored post, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I can’t believe it but the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be growing bigger and bigger. Lockdown restrictions are easing and we’re finally getting a taste of what life was like before all of this madness started. With restrictions easing, we have plenty of opportunities to reconnect with the people we love. I can’t tell you how much I need a date night with my man. Here are some of my fun ideas for dates this Spring…

Go To The Pub

Man, I have missed the pub. I am such a pub girl, I was a barmaid until I was 26 and I just loved the hustle and bustle of being down the local.

I have lots of bars and cute pubs in my local area, so I’m really fortunate.

I’ll admit, it does get chilly once the sun goes down and there is no pub grub but it’s all part of the fun.

Is there anything better than finishing work early and sneaking off to the pub for one only to get chatting to friends and not get home till it’s pitch black? Sun downers are some of my favourite summer past times.

Chatting about work and life over a bench with loads of crisps and pals you’ve not seen in a year is sure to add a spark to any relationship!

Go For An Adventure

We can finally move around more than before. We aren’t restricted to our homes or even our towns. The option for a little seaside minibreak, mini golf and dish and chips while wrapped in coats sounds just lovely, doesn’t it?

My idea of the perfect Spring date would be to load the car up with sweets and sandwiches and take a drive down to Bournemouth or Brighton. Sit by the sea all day, socially distanced, and just listen to the sounds of the waves, the seagulls and other human beings.

Try Something Different

Let’s be honest, we’ve been stuck at home with the same faces for over a year. We’ve been working at home, unable to leave the house and it’s taken its toll. The fun, laughter and adventure may not be there anymore.

So, why not try something different?

I’m up for (almost) anything. I have a few friends who love gaming – that’s how they connect. They go online on Friday and Saturday nights and chat and catch up while they play. They joke around and laugh while they eat pizza, drink beer and laugh at each other.

I know loads of single friends who’ve made genuine connections with people using Gamerdates.

Their spark is insane – especially now that we can all be in the same vicinity. They would never have got together if it weren’t for the pandemic. Gamer dating sites help singles who are into all kinds of games connect, it’s had massive success among my friends. They love it for making friendships and connections with people who don’t live near them.

This Spring, I’m going to embrace the gamer in my man. I plan on jumping in and playing his favourite online games with him – even if it means he’ll laugh at how terrible I am all night long. You never know, trying something different could bring out the best in us!

Have a BBQ

The weather has blessed us with some glorious sunshine and the clocks springing forward has meant longer days. And, I am here for it. Goodbye winter, you won’t be missed.

I enjoy hosting – especially since I’ve not been able to do it in what feels like forever.

I plan on having as many BBQs in my sunny garden as possible. I’ll, of course, be keeping to the restrictions: two households or the rule of six. But I can have fun with just one other person, my BBQ and some music on.

I’ll be making great big salads, creating fruity cocktails and eating more chips and dip than I ever thought possible.

Go Out On A Real [Outdoor] Date

This past year, all I’ve worn is elasticated clothing. My man wouldn’t recognise me if I put on a pair of wedges and something a little more figure hugging. The pandemic has made me miss getting dressed up and going out for fun date nights.

While we can’t yet eat inside, there are plenty of ways to have a date. You could go for a romantic strolls (we live on the river so that’s easy); how about ordering some delicious take out food and people watching as you eat it together? You could always go and visit friends and get dressed up to the nines for it!

Whatever I’ll be doing with my man, it’ll be in full glam mode. Hair done, nails polished, full face of make up. I might even chuck on a ball gown for laughs!

There are lots of fun things to do now that lockdown restrictions are easing – whether you are single or in a relationship. The most important thing to remember is to stay safe & to follow the COVID restriction rules.
