The Vansittart Arms

If you want a sun soaked spot that is away from the town centre, The Vansittart Arms is your best bet. A pub that is famous among the people who live in Windsor, it’s right next to Windsor Boys’ School and set in the heart of a lovely residential area.

The ultimate pub for delicious food, Fullers beers and that local, homey feel.

The garden is south facing, filled with lots of benches and not great for families with little ones.

The Alma

Another hidden gem, one of those if you know, you know pubs.

Since the most recent lockdown, they’ve revamped parts of the garden to allow for extra seating. I love this spot because in the colder days, they give out blankets and hot water bottles.

This pub has a young, fun feel to it. The staff are great and they love seeing their garden full.

This garden also usually has a little play area for smaller kids. It’s nice to have it slightly away from everyone else. I don’t mind kids in pubs and this special area keeps them away from the hardcore pub goers!

The Henry VI

This pub is my normal go-to for live music and sun soaked weekend bevvys.

Nestled away in Eton high street and you’d never know that a little secret garden is right behind it all.

This little pub is lovely for lazy days, group meet ups and town pub crawls!

The Crown & Cushion

Let’s talk pub lunches. If you want a great pub lunch in Windsor, you HAVE to go to the Crown & Cushion. When I used to work in Windsor town centre, I would often sneak here for a massive sandwich and chips on my lunch break.

The garden is not massive, it is tucked in at the side but I’ve always been able to bag a table in the sunshine.

The people behind the bar are lovely, super friendly and love to encourage customers to try different drinks.

The Royal Windsor

If you want to feel like you’re having a drink with Liz and family, The Royal Windsor is where you need to go.

From the picture, you can see just how close it is the the ground of Windsor Castle.

It is situated just across the road from Eton bridge and the main train station. The garden is decorated nicely and you’re sure to see a few local celebs dropping in.
