A Royal Arrival: Newbie Has Landed in Windsor!

Parents of Windsor, Ascot and basically anyone with a pushchair and a caffeine addictionSTOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING.

A fresh slice of Scandi heaven has arrived in Windsor Royal Station, and it’s baby fashion royalty. Yes, Newbie has opened its doors, and I am already emotionally (and financially) attached.

For those of you unfamiliar with Newbie (where have you been—hiding under a sleep-deprived rock?!), it’s the dreamy baby and kids wear brand from Sweden that does sustainable, timeless clothes that make you want to have another baby just so you can buy the tiny romper.

I popped into the press opening faster than my toddler can launch a tantrum in Tesco, and let me tell you, it’s like stepping into the Pinterest nursery board of your dreams. Think muted florals, soft knits, and floaty dresses saying, “I might throw yoghurt later, but I’ll look cute doing it.”

The Press Day

I was lucky enough to be invited into the store before it opened to the public and shop till I dropped! My mission was to spot items that were neutral but also things that would see us through a few seasons.

With baby number 2 on the way (I’m still in happy disbelief), I wanted to get some cute matching outfits or bits for Jack and the baby.

The shop is large, with rows and rows of tempting items. You can shop just pink or just blue, and for baby as well as all white. I love a baby in all white, there’s nothing more special.

The whale-themed items caught my eye straight away. When Jack was tiny, whales & sea creatures were the “thing” for baby clothes. So, of course, I got myself a gorgeous whale jumper for him and a matching one for the new baby. The matching photos I plan to take with them makes me emotional!

The team at Newbie put on a delicious brunch with fresh juices and pastries. The official camera crew and PRs were there snapping us all shopping, and I even got my hands on a special calligraphy card as a memento.

What to Grab for Your Littlest Royal

Let’s talk about the must-haves, because I know your brain is probably juggling nursery pick-up times and trying to remember if you’ve had a proper meal today.

1. The Baby Knit Rompers – These are so soft, so adorable, and so Instagram-ready you’ll want to plan a photoshoot immediately. Plus, they’re made from organic cotton, which means less guilt when your tiny human decides to chew on them.

2. The Toddler Co-ords – Matching sets for toddlers are the vibe. I found the sweetest little floral blouse and bloomer set that gave me “English countryside picnic but make it Scandi” energy. And it passed the Can My Kid Roll Down a Hill in This? test.

3. All the Layers – Newbie is a layering expert. Cardigans, tights, little hats that tie under the chin (I cried). If your child is permanently sticky but still deserves to look like a mini Zara model, this is your one-stop shop.

Local Parent Perks

Windsor’s store is in Windsor Royal Station, so it’s super accessible. Whether you’re popping in post-soft play or need a last-minute gift on the way to a christening (we’ve all been there), it’s right by the station and surrounded by coffee spots. You can justify your haul with a flat white and a croissant.

The Newbie store also have an actual play corner, so your toddler can busy themselves with blocks while you blissfully debate whether to buy the blanket in beige or blush (spoiler: get both).

And if you’re an Instagram-happy parent (who isn’t?), their aesthetic is a content creator’s dream. Wood panelling, floral wallpaper, tiny hangers… I’m convinced the lighting makes your baby 30% cuter.

Final Thoughts from a Very Tired, Very Happy Mum

Honestly? I didn’t need another reason to go shopping in Windsor, but Newbie has me fully converted. Whether you’re a brand-new mum or a seasoned pro with a buggy full of snacks and existential dread, this place will make you feel like you’ve got it together.

So grab your mum mates, grab a coffee, and go get your Newbie fix. Just don’t blame me when you walk out with a bag full of soft knits and a sudden urge to have just one more baby… For me, it’s all about getting the best neutral bits for baby number 2 that will walk us through winter and spring next year!

Happy shopping, lovely people!
