Is it just me or did January feel about a thousand days long? Thankfully, we’re well and truly into February now which means that we can start to look forward to what 2022 is going to bring. Every year sees its own variety of fashion and beauty trends, so let’s take a look at what we can expect in the way of beauty trends for 2022.
Makeup
Makeup wise we’re likely to see the trend for a smoky eye to continue to be popular.
Traditionally a smoky eye has been popular for evenings out and sultry evenings but this Spring is likely to see they become popular for any time of the day and that is something that will continue throughout the rest of 2022!
In fact, when it comes to makeup trends for 2022 eyes are going to be a big deal, with bright eye shadow and bold eyeliner likely to be popular choices.
There is likely to be a nod towards glam grunge this year, with plenty of colour teamed up with strong lines and dark finishes.
Makeup beauty trends often change quickly thanks to beauty blogging and social media trends, so it can be hard to say exactly what makeup trends we’ll see over the next 11 months.
Hair
When it comes to hair trends in 2022 we’re likely to see two extremes, which are both going to prove equally popular.
First is the choppy bob, which for many people remains a timeless choice for how to have their hair cut and styled. However, on the flip side, this boho fashion is going to continue to rise in popularity and as such, we’re likely to see hair being styled in plaits as a popular choice this year.
If you are someone that can’t always decide how to style their hair or simply don’t have time then you might be happy to learn that headscarves are tipped to be popular this Spring; again leading into summer and the rest of the year. In fact, hair accessories, in general, are likely to be a popular choice this year.
Beauty and Fashion in 2022
In general, there is likely to be a throwback to retro fashion – flowers in your hair, floral pattern clothing and even plaits in your hair.
2022 is going to be about the finished look, whatever your choice of look is. So, we’re going to see lots of popularity surrounding accessories including hair accessories where people go all out to give their overall outfit the perfect finished look. We are likely to see big and bold earrings and necklace choices that help to capture this look too.
Of course, fashion and beauty are still all about the natural look and this isn’t likely to go anywhere anytime soon either.
We’re only a month into 2022 so it is hard to say exactly what beauty trends we’re likely to see throughout the whole year but most people will agree that it is likely to be about being seen, being bold in your choices and being unapologetically you – something that we have seen more of over recent years but most definitely something that isn’t going away.
