Calm? That’s not exactly the word I’d use to describe my skin at this point. We’re what? 18475738 days into the longest heatwave on record since 1976, everyone’s grass is brown – even the Queen’s, we’re all resorted to cold showers and my skin hates life. If I’m not breaking out from constant sweat-wiping, I am covered in a constant sheen that makes me look like I’ve slipped in an oil slick. Calm is definitely not how I would describe my skin, no. But what do I do when life gets tough on our precious skin? I find a way to solve it, of course!
Ren Skincare’s new Evercalm Range is a thing of dreams, a wonder, a beauty and a saviour! I’m sharing all the details and my tips on how to get your skin shining once again!

I have to admit…

By now, you must know that I am something of a skincare addict. I try all the fads, except maybe those controversial gummy bears that made you tan – they sure disappeared quick!
You name it, I’ve tried it.
My evening skincare routine can range from a five minute skin cleanse to a three hour mask, cleanse, massage and wash!
I treasure and celebrate the sensitive skin on my face – thanks to my beautiful Mum! She’s had five children (stressful), never smoked (like me) and looks younger now than she ever has! She has barely any wrinkles and she’s always encouraged me to look after my skin as much as possible!

I was lucky enough, this month, to receive some goodies from the new Evercalm Range to trial and I was really pleased with the results!

What Skincare Works For Me

When it comes to skincare, the thicker the better for me! I love nothing more than lathering myself thick with product, working it in and really feeling it work.
My first secret of good skincare is working and working and working the product in, massage, move your skin around, get that blood flowing!

More On This Range

The Evercalm Range is designed for people, like me, who suffer from redness and irritation with a little dryness thrown in! The formula on my summer skin has been perfect. It’s light, aerated whilst still holding a thick and luxurious form.
The cleanse lathers easily and quickly and isn’t harsh smelling. Each product in the range compliments the next with every level of skincare being taken care of beautifully and, most importantly, gently!

I tend not to wear too much make up when I don’t have to. Day to day, I am more of a BB/CC Cream kinda girl (my favourite CC Cream of the moment is the Complete CC Cream from Youth Labs – find my review here) , a touch of bronze and barely there mascara.
So, taking off any make up residue was an easy job for the Evercalm cleanser. But getting into the real dirt and grime build up from a day of sweating, commuting and pollution – it had it’s work cut out for it!

My Skincare Routine

I started using the cleanse in my daily evening shower, gently massaging it into my skin while my shampoo cleaned my hair. Every time I rinsed my face off, I could instantly tell the difference.
After each shower my skin looked very calm and not at all inflamed or angry!

This, daily, followed by the Hydro Boost plumping cream as I brushed my wet hair out made my skin bright and happy for the rest of the evening!
There’s no greasy feel to the products and they settled into my skin easily!
I’d finish the routine with the Overnight Recovery Balm just for good measure.

Three Weeks Later

Every morning for almost three weeks I have woken up with the most glorious skin, plump and intensely moisturised and an even colour!
While I’ve still had the odd break out (I can thank TOTM for that one I think) my skin hasn’t felt sore or uneven!

Often if I’ve had the time in the morning, before applying my day to day make up, I’ve given myself a thin layer of the Hydro Boost cream just to set my make up nicely and leave my skin feeling hydrated and happy!

My favourite of the range has GOT to be the cleanser – I’ve never known one like it, so thorough, so gentle!
