In the world of budget beauty, where do you go? Which brand do you seek out? I obviously have a fave! If you’ve ever visited my blog before you’ll know I only go for budget and bargains! That’s where Rimmel’s new range comes in! Their new Urban Affair range is one I was very happy to see land on my door matt this week and you can see why..
Firstly…
First of all, let’s talk colours, trends and the time of year. You may be aware of my hate for the ever lasting winter and all it that it includes. It’s February now, I know that technically it’s still winter but come on! Get it over and done with! With winter comes extra skincare needs, as well as darker make up and beauty pigments to compliment the season. Usually I am so against that but when I opened my Influenster VoxBox to see such gorgeous dark and moody beauty items I was pretty happy!
Rimmel are one of my favourite brands and not just because they are budget. That always grabs my attention at first! But the thing that keeps me going back to Rimmel time after time is that amazing quality of their products! Whether it’s nail polish, lip colours or basics like powders or concealers, Rimmel never let you down!
Urban Affair by Rimmel faced by the beautiful Rita Ora, is a gorgeous set up of moody, dark nail polishes and dark and stormy Stay Matte lip stains.
First thing a blogger does when they unbox any sort of beauty? Swatch them!
Swatch goals or what!?
I have very petite lips with not a lot to shout or pout about but these stains even on my tiny lips look amazing! They instantly transform a look from normal to feisty, fit and super moody! I am all about embracing your inner feistiness with beauty and the Urban Affair range really does that! The formula is perfect for winter lips too; I know I am not the only one struggling with crazy chapped lips and skincare neglect due to the wonderful season of winter – can you tell I am being sarcastic!?
The creamy formula is beautiful and creamy and while the matte really does work, it doesn’t dry out your lips like so many of its competitors!
I am all about matte looks on lips and nails but if it dries out your lips and leaves that gross red wine stain that you need to scrub and scrub to remove then this range is for you!
Nails
The amazing thing about Rimmel nails, and this range in particular, is the top coat. It is INCREDIBLE!
I am not even lying! Or embellishing! I have applied both Fatal Fling and Trust You from the range and without the top coat they are nothing!
That amazing two step bottom and top coat is so thick, luxurious and chip resistant! I always put my nails through the chip test, I work in an environment that is basically allergic to nail polish and since I’ve applied both polishes from the range and used the AMAZING Rimmel top coat, there have been zero chips in almost 5 days!
