The Perfect Mother’s Day Lunch at The Leaf Restaurant, Castle Hotel Windsor

Mother’s Day is Sunday 30th March 2025. As a Mother to one young toddler, I can tell you exactly what we want to do on Sunday – and it’s fun for the whole family. Simply, we want an unforgettable dining experience at The Leaf Restaurant in the Castle Hotel Windsor. Nestled in the heart of my hometown Windsor, The Leaf offers an elegant yet welcoming setting that’s perfect for making memories with the most important woman in your life.

The New Menu

You can enjoy the beautiful decor of the Leaf while trying to brand new a la cart and all-day dining menus, carefully created by by Executive Head Chef Suraj Lokhande.

The menus are brilliant and celebrate the finest seasonal products with locally source ingredients, blending British classics with contemporary twists for a special dining experience.

A highlight for me is the toddler menu with two and three course options. The brilliant staff at the Leaf simply can’t do enough for young diners and made a real meal out of my toddler.

As a toddler mum, I struggle to go out for nice meals because toddlers can be unpredictable. In fact, we rarely go out for evening time meals and opt for lunches instead. However, our meal with the Leaf was better than any of my expectations and Jack had a brilliant time.

Some highlight dishes for us include…

The pan-seared scallops with curried cauliflower purée, crispy pancetta, and mixed herb emulsion. The calamari is a classic for a reason and it was delicious.

You can enjoy all of the classics including fish and chips, a delicious Caesar salad and the delicate baked cod loin with Jersey Royal potatoes.

The signature game pie is a triumph and a must-try for Mother’s Day.

The Leaf focus on fresh, flavourful, and health-conscious creations that taste delicious and a re fit for all members of your family.

Toast To Mothers

When you sit down for your Mother’s Day meal, be sure to pour over the extensive wine & champagne menu. The Leaf offers an extensive and expertly curated wine list so you can have the perfect pairing with every dish.

I opted for the Malbec to accompany my meal and it was superb.

The champagne menu is also on offer – ask your server for more details.

Afternoon Tea at The Leaf

Afternoon Tea and The Leaf go hand in hand as a Windsor local. The afternoon tea offering at this gorgeous spot is synonymous with Windsor.

In fact, I celebrated my first ever Mother’s Day with not one but 2 different afternoon tea days at The Leaf! That’s how much I LOVE it!

Why do I love Afternoon Tea at The Leaf so much? Simply put, the attention to detail, the brilliantly warm hospitality and the incredible decor makes it THE place in Windsor.

You feel so special sitting in the outside seating area or the private dining area and the sandwiches and delicacies are always perfect.
