Mavala Poolside Collection

I thought I’d break up the lockdown blog posts with some amazing holiday inspired pigments and blogger mail gifting from Mavala UK & Spa PR! Recently, I received a bumper gift bag filled with the new Mavala Poolside collection – a nail polish collection inspired by far flung, sunny destinations and perfect for making you feel as vibrant as the summer. Obviously, the farthest we’ll be going this summer is Costa Del Garden but a girl can dream right? Here’s the full run down of Mavala’s Poolside Collection!

When it comes to summer, nail care and popping colours are a must have for me. Even if I’m only going away for a long weekend, I always pack a vibrant (and sometimes flourescent) nail polish to make my fresh tan really pop.

The year we got engaged, I’d painted my nails not an hour before and I am always grateful that I did it in the nicest pink/coral colour and that my hands look healthy and bright!

Poolside is made up of six gorgeous nail polishes that encapsulate the colours of summer! Each shade is named after a far flung destination across the world and they are like a dream in your hand!

In the summer, I adore bright pops of colour in comparison to moodier, muted and often monochrome tones of Autumn and Winter. And, while this summer isn’t shaping up to be the bright and vibrant one I had planed (read, postponement of destination wedding), I can still enjoy the fun of lovely nails!

Manicure Goals

Any good manicure will come from a decent nail and skincare prep. Luckily, Mavala & Spa PR really spoiled me with this blogger mail by adding everything a girl could need to give herself the best manicure!

Huile Cuticle

The amazing cuticle coating is not only easy to use but results driven. The clear liquid is not overly fragrant and does not leave a sting or a burn on your sensitive areas. Simply brush on the oil to your cuticles and the skin around your nails and massage in with firm circular motions. It is encouraged to do this every evening before bed so that the magic can work while you sleep!

Mavala Scientifique

This nail hardener is actually the only one I use. I am always really conscious of my own nail health – being a blogger means that a hazard of my job is having to trial lots of different products one after the other and my skin and nails can suffer.

This hardener is light and not overly oily. It sits nicely on your nail without leaving too much residue and it really does work. My nails usually chip at the tips and because I am on the keyboard all day, this happens a lot a lot. With this nail hardener, breaks and splits are fewer and further between!

Mavala Strong Base Coat

I’ve been struggling for agessss to get a good base coat. My cheap versions only succeed in helping the entire nail art peel or slip off – I’ve found entire nails complete and unharmed in my oven glove without even noticing that it’d had slipped off of my finger nail.

Again, I paint my nails a lot so I need a good base coat that wont encourage slipping off of product. This one does that and then some!

Top Coat Gel Finish

A top coat is just as necessary as a strong bottom or base coat. This gel liked top coat is brilliant for giving the look at the finished salon gleam! It is thick, luxurious and not too gloopy which means the finish on each nail is perfect every time!

Poolside Manicure Ideas

I like to be creative with my nails but I also like to keep thins simple sometimes. One easy way to show off an original nail idea is to use one of the popping colours in the Poolside range as a manicure tip, like I’ve done above with Mombasa!
