Dating Tips For Summer
*This is a sponsored post, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Hello, summer. I type this while wearing a summer dress, slippers, and a zip-up jumper. The summer weather hasn’t quite arrived yet but that doesn’t mean we can’t embrace the next few months. Recent lockdowns and COVID restrictions have taken the fun out of so much of our day-to-day lives but we’re on the cusp of being able to enjoy some kind of normality. Now’s a great time to connect, romance, wine and dine. Here are my top dating tips for summer!

Bask In The Sunshine
No matter where you are based in the UK, there are plenty of lovely outdoor spaces available for day-long picnics, water fights, and river drinks. If you’re based in Windsor, like me, you can enjoy bar hopping in the best beer gardens. Perhaps you’re in Bristol where you can wander around shops along Gloucester Road in the sunshine. You could be based in Essex and enjoy matching with this Essex dating site, if so, Epping Forest can be your whole weekend.
When the sun comes out in England, it is bloody glorious! Why not reconnect with your other half by planning fun days out where you can top up your tan, people watch, and sneak hugs and kisses when no one is looking?
Get Active
We’ve spent a long time inside, immobile and glued to our TVs, haven’t we?
Connect with someone new this summer and see if the sparks fly while getting active together. Go for a bike ride along country lanes, enjoy outdoor swimming pools where you can splash around and check out each other’s beach bodies.
You don’t have to do anything crazy like abseiling or bungee jumping, a simple hike around your local park or game of flirty frisbee could be enough to get hearts racing.
You never know, you could bring out the competitive nature between you and make things hotter than ever!

Drive To The Beach
My goodness, I can’t actually tell you how much I need a beach day!
The idea of packing up the car with snacks, towels and cold drinks fills my heart with joy.
There are loads of lovely beaches in the UK that are just a drive away, depending on where you live.
A beach day is like a mini holiday. It can act as a fun first date if you’ve met your partner online, or you can enjoy being kids again when the world has been crazy.
Get up early and head down there with lots of sun cream – preferably midweek to miss the weekend madness.
Lie out on the sand (or stones) on towels and feel the sun tickle your skin. Mix it up with splashes in the sea and ice cream breaks. Read books or do puzzles together and end the day with a shared bag of fish and chips with curry sauce.
Dreamy.
Watch An Outdoor Movie
The rain should (hopefully) be gone now and there’s no better time to fling all the pillows and blankets into the garden for a dusk movie night under the stars.
Pick a film that you both like so that there is no squabbling about boredom. Lock your phones inside. Enjoy snuggling up in the comfort of your garden, getting close and feeling the romance fade back in.
Bonus is, you don’t have to see anyone else, be in a bustling crowd or shout over loud music to enjoy each other’s company.
If you feel like you’re likely to get frisky while the film plays, make sure you’ve given yourself plenty of privacy with overhanging sheets or a make shift tent. Your neighbours won’t want to see that!

Put Each Other Through Your Paces
Who doesn’t love a day of thrill-seeking? Get the G-Force working with the butterflies in your stomach by planning a day out to a theme park.
See how your date copes with the big loopers, watch them scream in pleasure and pain as they are strapped in. Giggle until your tummy hurts as you queue and get to know each other better.
Size them up as they try to win hook a duck and the other fun games.
Exclusive time just the two of you in a theme park or pleasure park can be the making of any relationships.
If you’re near me, Thorpe Park is the number one recommendation. If you’re into old-school rollercoasters, you could try Southend Beach. Brighton has some excellent theme park games and attractions too!
Head To The Rooftops
Whether you’ve been seeing your match online, you’re in a solid relationship or you’re wanting to inject some romance back into your relationship, romantic rooftop dates are the way to go.
Do some research for your local area and see which exclusive haunts offer dinner, drinks and snacks on their roof.
Book a slot for when the sun is going down, get dressed up and enjoy each other’s company over a glass of champagne.
Now, that’s how you do it!
If you’re looking for Essex dating, I’d recommend The Terris Bar or Seasons Bar in Woodford.
If you’re near me in beautiful Windsor, I recommend GOGOs and The Boatman – both on the river, both have delicious food and cocktails!

It’s time to jump with both feet into a summer of romance and fun dates. Embrace all of the long days, the outfit changes, the bbqs and the time together. We deserve it!
If you’re looking to start online dating in time for a summer of love, get ready for the fun of video dating. Virtual first dates are easy to have and can bring out the fun in even the most shy single. You can enjoy all of my date ideas over the phone and via video call – what a world we live in, eh?
