ARK Skincare Is Going GREEN
2020 has been a tough year, and that might just be an understatement. We are on the verge of a second lockdown, we’ve missed out on holidays, birthdays, family time and I’ve missed out on my wedding. Online shopping has increased for some and bulk & panic buying has been happening since February. Blogging is just about back to normal but the planet feels like it has suffered from all of this fallout. So, when I found out that one of my favourite skincare brands, ARK are taking steps towards sustainability, I had to share it with you all!

How Are ARK Skincare Working Towards Sustainability?
ARK Skincare’s products are, genuinely, some of my favourite. Their formulas just work for my skin – no matter what phase of the month I’m in, no matter the odd breakout! But, we are talking about skincare – and how can that be sold, purchased, shipped or delivered without some sort of sturdy plastic to encase it?

ARK have pledged to reduce the plastic that they use for their best selling products. Their containers will contain half the amount of plastic than previous packaging. Their new packaging will also be easier to recycle because it will be made from a single material rather than many different ones!
ARK have teamed up with Terracycle who help to recycle difficult-to-recycle materials. You can now bring your ARK containers to their headquarters in Surrey and Terracycle will transform them into plastic pellets for use in furniture. If you do this, you will also receive 10% off of your next ARK purchase – bonus!

The new cartons from ARK will now be made from FSC Certified materials – the FSC promote responsible forestry practices.
The brand are also in the process of reviewing their postal packaging rates – this is going to an ongoing project but a huge step in the right direction!
As far as blogger mail and purchases are concerned, ARK will no longer wrap their items in any kind of cellophane as this is notoriously difficult to recycle – stay tuned for what they use as a substitute!
As you well know, I love ARK Skincare, I trust the brand with my precious skin and I recommend their formulas to anyone with ears! So to know that they are making genuine moves to become more sustainable, it makes me love them even more!
What do you think of brands going green? Does it make you more supportive of them and their products?
