Autumn Clothes Haul

Hello October, you cheeky little thing! I am loving the feel of the new month and it has encouraged me to speed out and buy too many clothes! This is a round up of my recent Autumn Clothes Haul from both Primark and New Look . Need some clothes inspiration? Keep reading!

If you’ve read my previous blog posts, you’ll know that I am loving the new Autumn trends. One of my favourites for this season is the wrap. The staple. The outfit finisher. The outfit completer. The hider of all sins. The comfiest thing you’ll be wearing this Autumn! I’ve shopped around and prices have been at both ends of the spectrum. I love the more bolder designs, with block patterns and have searched high and low for the right one. I have tested fabrics and lengths (I’m short so length is key – I don’t want to look dumpy!). I love the suede versions as well as the tassly ones. I decided to settle on these:

These two are gorgeous! And although they were different prices, I’ll leave it to you to surmise which one was cheaper; they are both the same feel and look. I debuted the one in red last night, accompanied with an all black attire. Simple black t shirt, black jeans and black heeled boots. I didn’t want anything to take away from the look. It was a huge hit! I was warm all evening whilst also not feeling frumpy as I’d wondered. It covered a multitude of sins (Who doesn’t have a Chinese on a Friday!?) and I got so many comments on how great it looked! I will try the grey and brown one next. The great thing about these … it doesn’t have to be for something formal. In fact, it could be more something you throw on before you leave the house! If you’re gonna go for the bolder designs like mine, make sure you go neutral ish underneath. Brilliant buy!

This is how I styled the look last night. I was only going to the local to watch men shout at a TV – was there some rugby being played last night by any chance?! I went for all black everything else.

I went for a simple Strobing look (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?) Luckily for you, here is where you can find my blog post all about how to Strobe. I always contour my nose that’s why it looks like that … I know. I also went for the simple liquid eye liner flick. Very minimal to keep the look clean. I paired the look with French plaits and was made fun of all evening for looking like Wednesday Addams – but hey, I liked it!

The next thing I splurged on wasn’t really a splurge at all! New Look are having a HUGE mid-season sale (I know, amazing!) and I got in there yesterday at just the right time! I know that Summer is now sadly behind us but I can’t get over how gorgeous my little sister always looks in her Kimonos. So, I took the plunge and got two in the sale. This was one major sale! I was in shopping heaven – there were rails and rails as far as the eye could see! I found two Kimonos that I thought would compliment my Autumn wardrobe but that would also stand the test of time when Spring eventually rears it’s head, and dare I say it, my Kimonos may get a wear in the twenty minutes of Summer next year!

I bought lots of black yesterday, too. The last items had lots of pops of colour so I felt I needed to buy some staple black bits to make sure I achieve the look. Primark is great for t shirts of all shapes and sizes, long sleeves, short sleeves, sleeveless. So I binged on lots of black tops, just plain tees and some black jeans. I actually love Primark jeans. I know lots of people who find them a bit iffy with sizes but I have one style I stick with and it’s always served me well. High waisted black jeans from Primark are a must in my wardrobe and the soft feel makes them seem less rigid. Primark should invest in selling some high waisted black jeans with rips – if they did, they’d be cleaned out in no time!

The best bit about Autumn and clothes shopping? The knitwear! I love knitwear and as soon as I can get it out from the back of the wardrobe the better for me! Knitwear is in! It is no longer viewed as something your Nan would wear – or force you to wear! Knitwear has come lightyears in the fashion stakes and it is EVERYWHERE you turn this Autumn! I love nothing more than a huge (I always buy bigger, if it shrinks it’s not a big deal, if not it’s like slipping into a lovely warm haven!), fluffy jumper with long sleeve to curl your hands into! I’ll admit, I went a little jumper/knitwear crazy yesterday. Here’s some of the knitwear I’ll be wearing this Autumn.

From my crazy shopping spree, I’ll be sorted for… a couple of weeks! I love everything Autumn has to offer in the fashion stakes and while these items are absolutely gorgeous, I know they’ll stand the test of time in the dismal English weather. New Look have really outdone themselves this season! If you haven’t had a chance to get to their mid-season sale – what are you waiting for!? Get ya butts out! The little summery items I bought in the sale will be invaluable throughout Autumn and when Spring and Summer eventually come back to us! CRY!! Also, there are lots of extra bits in the sale that would do great as small Christmas presents. Sorry for the C word but it’s better to be ready!

In my next post I’ll reveal all about my Autumn Shoe Haul – with some little gems making a reappearance from a few seasons ago! I love to recycle so you guys on a budget, like me, will appreciate that one!
