Flower Power

So, as we lean towards the end of the summer those summer trends we heard so much about on the catwalk are yet to rear their heads. Be that down to the lack of summer and sunshine or the lack of high street trawling. Either way, one style I am extremely happy to embrace is the Flower Power style. Picture this: floral, pastels, girly and posy. A marmite amongst some of my blog chums, but a keeper for me! Embrace your inner Flower Power with some of my picks!

So, online is bursting with Flower Power, you just got to know where to look! I haven’t seen too much evidence in store – I rarely get time to hop in store these days, but when I do, I’m confronted with bardot, pastels and shiny metallic things that will never look good on me! Luckily, the floral/girlie style is perfectly adaptable to most sizes and shapes!

So, these six delights are all picked from a favourite of mine, Missguided. If you’ve visited my corner of the internet before you’ll know I spend far too much time on Missguided and not enough time wearing their clothes! I could have picked 883534895 floral and posy garments from this store as there were so many gorgeous ones but I managed to narrow it down to just six. The reason I love all of these six is because they are all on point trend wise but all have a little uniqueness about them. First of all, I LOVE how summery and light each of these feel – aren’t they just summer in an outfit? All of these picks are so easy to dress up for a night out and keep casual for daytime! Now we just need to pray for some sun (I’m writing this under two blankets on the sofa). My two favourites are the bardot/off the shoulder blue dress – a mix of both trends and perfect for Summer holidays! My other favourite is the print choker neck – although it says bodycon (I don’t like bodycon on myself) I am not convinced it is fully – I think if you tried it on and wanted to go for a bigger sixe it would still look on point!

ASOS always kill it with their trend following and these two pieces are bloody gorgeous! I love ASOS but always tend to stick with Booohoo, Missguided or New Look for summer looks (boring I know) but these two are such show stoppers! Can’t you just see yourself as the perfect and most styled Wedding guest this summer in these two frocks!? I love the first jumpsuit – the off the shoulder throws back to that oh-so popular summer trend and the floral adds that punch! The blue Prom Dress is just gorgeous! Light and not in your face but trendy enough to set you apart!

New Look is one of my ultimate favourite stores for, well, everything! I always end up popping in there for something or hopping over to their site just to add something else to my wishlist. It is such a trusty place to shop – not a lot of size fluctuation, good price ranges and on trend, always! These two floral numbers are gorgeous. The reason I picked them was to juxtapose the theme.

The first one, the black on the left, would be perfect for work! I know, I know, we don’t come here to think about work … but if you can turn up and rock this trend in that amazing dress, you’ll be the talk of the water cooler! I love the fit, with the synched in waist and the capped sleeves – so flattering!

The second, the white on the right, is just gorgeous! I love the dainty spaghetti straps – transporting me back to my teenage years of strap tops and chunky trainers (eek)! I love whit dresses, a nightmare as I always get food down me, even if I’m not the one eating! I love the cut and flow of the dress and of course the colour of the flowers remind me of peonies and summer BBQs. And, us bloggers well know, peonies are the next pineapples!

What do you think of the Flower Power trend? Is it something you’d give a go?
