Your wedding should be a special day for you and your guests. By ensuring your friends and loved ones have an enjoyable experience, you can show them how much they mean to you and share happy memories of your wedding day. Below are a few different ways to make your wedding a great day for your guests.

Choose a venue with the right facilities

When choosing a venue, it’s important to think about your guests’ needs. On top of choosing an accessible location, you may want to consider whether there is parking on site and whether guests with disabilities can access the venue. Looking into wedding venues with accommodation on-site could also prevent loved ones having to find their own accommodation – and also allow you and your guests to spend breakfast together the next morning.

Invest in different types of entertainment

Entertainment is key to making sure that your guests have a good time. When choosing a DJ or wedding band, you may want to recommend a few music choices that are special to you and your partner – but you should also consider the type of music your guests are into and whether a DJ or band can take requests. If there are going to be kids at the wedding, you may want to consider arranging some kid’s entertainment  – which could include colouring in, sparklers, a bouncy castle, a chocolate fountain, a giant Jenga, or a cornhole board. Other forms of entertainment could include a magician, a photobooth, or fireworks.

Carefully consider your seating plan

Certain guests may get on well with each other better than others. It’s important to create a seating plan that encourages harmony and reduces conflict. Seat people together who you think will get on with each other and separate people who you think may get into arguments. Some couples like to separate social circles to encourage people to mingle, but often it’s better to keep people together who know each other well – especially friends or relatives who may not have seen each other in a while and who may be eager to catch up.

Some of your guests may not eat meat, may have allergies, or may have religious dietary requirements. Consider treating guests to a few freebies such as complimentary bottles of wine on the table or putting some money behind the bar. You may also want to consider paying for certain items that your bridesmaids or groomsmen are going to wear so that they don’t have to pay for it all. This could be particularly important if you have your heart set on a certain bridesmaid dress or shoes that are quite expensive.
