Laval Beauty

From one beauty addict to another, my bank account just can’t cope! I am forever re-buying beauty bits that are like Holy Grail products, I am forever buying new make up “for the blog” and I can’t help but pick up anything with pretty packaging. I end up cleaning out my beauty stash once a month and giving so much away or promising myself I’ll use it.. that sometimes happen but sometimes it doesn’t. And, as a blogger, I know I am not the only one. My poor bank account is screaming at me to tighten my belt, be more shopping savvy and only buy what I need. So, when I was asked to review Laval Beauty I went for it.
You may remember my First Impressions of Laval Beauty (hit this link).  where I shared my first thoughts of many of Laval’s beauty items including foundations, lip sticks and eye products.. So here are my final thoughts!

Beauty & Me

When it comes to beauty, coverage is a biggie for me. I don’t have terrible skin but I am crazy anaemic so I can sometimes look as transparent as Casper the friendly ghost! I get red blemishes and if I’m tired it is tell tale on my face!
Good coverage is a basic for me and for many of us all. What can I say about Laval’s coverage? While Laval’s prices are rock bottom, you must know your own skin before applying this foundation. I’ve been moisturising like crazy this winter season just to ensure my skin feels less like that of a dragon! This has really helped with the coverage of Laval’s budget foundation.
The pigment perfectly suited my ashen winter skin but I really needed to work up my moisturising routine to see the best results of the foundation and base.

Lip Products

I can be quite the snob when it comes to lip products. You may be aware of my love of Nars lip products, Hell I own all of their new Limited Edition Lip Cover collection. Obviously with a higher end brand like Nars, you’re paying that luxury feel, brilliant formula and long lasting look.
Laval doesn’t pretend to be anything other than budget – which I love!
The shades and pigments I reviewed of Laval’s I really liked. I am definitely a nude lip girl over a bold lip just because of my own insecurities so the pinks and nudes I reviewed already ticked that box!
The feel or the formula is a touch more waxy than I’d like, it takes a little lovin’ in the application, this lipstick brand will NOT work on tired, chapped, winter lips. It will only highlight nasty looking lips, so make sure you treat your lips with love when preparing to use their lippies.
Lasting power? Not much. but for a crazy price of under a fiver, I wasn’t shocked or upset in the slightest!

Highlighters

Their strobe and highlighter sticks are wonderful! I tend to steer clear of liquid highlighters as I can get quite oily skin. I’ve found in the past that a powder highlighter has helped set my oily skin and hold the highlight while still avoiding looking sweaty!

The strobe sticks I was definitely impressed with. A sceptic at first, I didn’t use it directly on my face and instead applied it gently with my fingers. I love how long it lasts with a full face of make up and six cocktails and I especially love the non-greasy feel of it!
