This post has been a long time coming! Before Christmas, I received a gift bag full of goodies from the amazing people at Beauty At Tesco and Rimmel. In the gift bag was lots of lovely bits – I’ve done a post about it here. I had so much amazing and lovely feedback on the post and had lots of you lovely visitors telling me you’d like to see more of what I received – especially the nail polish! So, this post is dedicated to the gorgeous black Rimmel nail polish that I got before Christmas.
If you know me at all, you’ll know that I am huge nail art enthusiast! If you’d like to see other nail posts that I’ve done just hit the link I love any sort of nail polish, I like plain, gel, matte, but I also love to experiment with my nails too! This gorgeous Rimmel Black Nail Polish would have been to die for on its own, but me being me, I had to add that little edge of sparkle to it! So, I decided to do something different to highlight the dark black colour.
This gorgeously thick and luxurious black colour comes out as thick as syrup. It has my favorite type of applicator brush – nice and flat tipped to help get ultimate reach on the nail! I decided, in true LoveRosiee fashion, to add a little sparkle and extra to the black Rimmel colour by adding an ombre look of loose gold glitter.
I always start my nail care by trimming, filing and polishing my nails as much as possible. Due to the amount I paint my nails, my nail care is very important to me. I need to keep my nails as healthy as possible to ensure that I can continue to preen and prune them to achieve the best looks to blog about! So, once my nail are trimmed and prepared I always use the BarryM base coat. I have tried SOO many different base coats – as a beauty blogger I like to try a range of everything to get the best idea of products, and I have to say that BarryM ticks all the boxes for me! It is well on budget and keeps my nails in perfect condition! What more could you want?! I always go for their strengthening base and top coat as its the perfect consistency and doesn’t get all stringy like others brands.
So, once my base coat has fully dried, I apply the amazing Rimmel black colour. My advice for you guys is, many thinner layers will make a longer lasting finish than just blobbing on one or two thick layers! So, I take my sweet old time and apply very thin layers in about two or three minute intervals. The application of this very luxurious polish could not be easier! With its wide brush and expensive feeling consistency it is the perfect nail polish to apply! It’s that simple! It takes a couple minutes to dry properly – but if you are treating yourself with this nail polish, which you should be, a couple minutes only mean extra pamper time!
Once your black Rimmel polish has dried almost fully it’s time to grab your loose glitter and your base coat once again. I like to use just any old house hold sponge to apply the ombre – on a budget! I apply a very thin layer of the base coat onto the mostly the bottom of my nail and a tiny bit going up towards the nail bed. Then I apply the base coat to the sponge, dip the sponge in the loose glitter and dab onto my nails. As this is an ombre look I dab more at the bottom and minimal at the top. This can take some practice but once you’ve got it down it’s the same every time!
Once the desired amount of ombre has been applied all you need to do is wait for it to dry fully then apply your top coat!
You can find loose glitter like the one I’ve used in this post here.
There are so many things you could do with this gorgeous Rimmel Nail Polish – what would do?
