Nivea Biodegradable Wipes

As a skincare blogger and a consumer, I am becoming more and more aware of the impact of my own carbon footprint, online purchases and plastic consumption. We only have one planet and I want it to be healthy and live on for my children’s children. Now, as a blogger who raves about skincare regimes and routines, you’d think that I don’t love make up wipes. I shouldn’t want to remove my face after a long day. But, you’d be wrong. Today, I am sharing Nivea’s brand new Biodegradable Cleansing Wipes for the win!

Biodegradable – really?

Yep, you read that right. After years and years of being literally the worst things to happen to beauty and the Earth, Nivea have revolutionised the way in which we can remove our make up and cleanse our skin while helping to save the planet!

The new wipes are made from 100% renewable plant fibres so can biodegrade with no issue. They are fully enriched with Aloe Vera which encourages them to gently but thoroughly clean the skin on your face while cleaning stubborn build up areas. They promise to be gentle on skin, beautifully scented and good for the planet!

Do They Work?

Now that I am working from home full time, I actually wear less make up than I did when I had to go into the office. However, when I apply make up, I now go full glam. I’ve tipped the other way, at this rate, I’ll go mad and out my Christmas tree up on November 1st – but pandemic gets to you, ya know!

These days I am contouring, baking and strobing just to go to the local pub or do the food shop and some of my make up takes a long time to apply so, obviously, it usually takes ages to remove correctly.

The bonus is, Nivea’s new biodegradable wipes do remove my make up! I recently shared myself removing my make up using these wipes on my Insta Stories live and you could really see how strong the wipes were in getting that make up off!

I’m also not very gentle when it comes to make up removal (I literally just want to get into bed at that point of the night). I have been really getting in there with Nivea’s wipes and they’ve worked perfectly fine.

I was worried that they’d be easy to tear through and break (like some other brands’ biodegradable wipes) but they were plenty sturdy enough and held their shape and moisture enough to remove my make up and make me feel clean.

The Verdict

I love these wipes, they work for me just when I need them. If I’m away from home for the night or a bit tipsy, they are the perfect way to remove all of my make up, cleanse my face and save the planet all in one go!

They do not belong in my day to day life because I don’t wear make up every day however, I do cleanse and moisturise as part of my daily routine every night.

I would recommend cleansing and following your skincare routine after having used these new biodegradable wipes just to ensure your skin is perfect in every way possible!
