Tackling Post Partum Periods With Riley
I pride myself on talking about real, honest and raw things on my blog. Since becoming a Mum, my content has changed and evolved to be even more me. Today, I’m talking about post partum tips and how I tackled those post partum periods with the help of Riley. Whether you’re a new mum, an older lady going through the menopause, a mum of a teenage girl going through puberty or a girl with periods, this helpful tips post is for you.

Who Are Riley?
Born from the minds of three lovely females: Áine, Fiona & Lauren, Riley was created to combat the high street period products full of toxins and badness.
In their own words they say:
“With some tipsy googling, it led us down a shocking discovery path; that many mainstream period products are full of toxins and harmful chemicals. After finding all this out, we felt really compelled to do something about it and that’s how Riley was born.”
One of the main reasons why I love Riley is because of their passion for sustainability. Every month, I’m always astounded at just how much plastic comes with my time of the month. All Riley products are made with 100% certified organic cotton and literally nothing else.

What Does Riley Offer?
In addition to having more sustainable and toxin-free period products, you can literally have it all!
From pads and naked tampons to pantyliners and cramp heat pads – Riley have got period care covered.
Not only is this brand at the frontier of period care, they are also expanding into fashion with their beautiful sweaters, probiotic supplements and even a “my first period” care pack.
Riley & Post Partum Periods
By now, it is well documented that I am a mum of one and I had an emergency C Section. I’ve talked endlessly about care for new mums, support for C Section Mamas and having your tribe.
It’s no surprise that your first period post partum can be terrifying. There’s no hard and fast rule to when it’ll arrive and how long it will last, or even if it will be regular.
Unusually, as an exclusively breastfeeding mummy, my first period arrived around 8 months post partum.
Needless to say, I was shocked and a bit confused. I spoke to my breastfeeding support (found via NCT, thank you Mandy you helped so much in those early months) and I was reassured.
Periods Post C Section
Your periods post-birth can be light, heavy, painful, easy, a real mixed bag.
For me, I found that I would get period pain in my incision and lower back but, mercifully, they were light and quite short.
I turned to Riley when I realised just how many toxins and plastic was surrounding period care. I wanted to honour my body after everything it has endured. Riley did that more instantly.
My Riley Period Order
The Riley Period Pads are my go to for when Aunt Flo arrives.
Made from 100% certified organic cotton, they are compostable including the backing film and packaging. Not only that, our leak-proof pads are made with patented design so you can continue to live your daily life stress-free.
And I can confirm that they ARE definitely leak proof!
For everyday wear, I love the Riley Pantyliners.
They are winged for extra security and they are light and keep me feeling fresh all day long.
My Favourite Thing About Riley?
We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Caught short even though we know our period is coming every month. It’s always when you really need pads or tampons that you don’t seem to have any in the house.
The MAIN reason why I LOVE Riley is because, you order and your period care comes straight to your door!
You can stock pile, order ahead, take proper period care each month and not have to do that mad dash to the supermarket.
I Highly Recommend Riley For Period Care!
In my opinion, you can’t get better, therefore, I encourage you to look into this wonderful brand and invest in yourself and your period care.

This is a well-detailed article about Riley! It makes me want to try them out. There are brands that I’ve used in the past that just gave me rashes or had a smell I couldn’t stand.
