Wedding Check List

So, not new news, but still amazing news!
I’m getting MARRIED!

I know I already shared with you my engagement story (find it here)! But now comes the fun. I’ve done about 47363 surveys on my channels to see if you guys would like to come and join me on this next adventure. I’m so excited to become a bride and a wife and to plan our big day! And, it was unanimous! So, welcome along on this ride of me trying to blindly and then successfully negotiate how someone organises their perfect wedding!

Today, I am starting with a Wedding Check List!

Wedding Planning

This post may help you or just get your juices flowing at the very least.

I have no clue where to start with my wedding. All I know is that I want an intimate day with only family and the odd friend. I want to skip down the beach towards my man and dance on the sand. We’ll be dancing to ABBA all night, only to be interrupted by some delicious food and good cocktails!

I’m No Bridezilla

It’s not in my nature to be a crazy meltdown kind of girl, but with all the overwhelming information and planning that a wedding can take, even the most chilled of couples would find it stressful!
The word Bridezilla has been banded around a lot in my life recently and I am just not here for it; even in these early stages of organising our lovely day, I am constantly trying to remind myself that we are simply organising a party to celebrate our love and that nothing has to be a stress or hard work. It’s simply the two of us uniting to become one family and move into the next phase of our love and life.

We all, also, know that I am a massive list girl. I make a list about making a list. Going on holiday, a trip to the supermarket, to do for the blog; I am forever making lists upon lists just to get the next thing done.

Lists have also been crazy helpful for me in these early stages of wedding planning!

Here is my very crude attempt at wedding planning in its very early stages:

2 years to 12 Months Before

Budget

think about all the things that are a deal breaker for your day and not what an empty cheque may get you –  you do not have to spend thousands upon thousands of pounds to have a wonderful day!

Choose a wedding date

this could be in two years or in three months – you’ll have to work with venues on availability etc!

Have a think and start choosing your wedding style

what venues or little niches would enhance that theme – mine is beach themed so naturally we wont be getting married in a stately home in the countryside.

Consider guest list and numbers

 I have had issues recently with lack of numbers (we are hoping for a destination wedding) and intimate weddings aren’t feasible in some locations, so take some time to think about who you would love there and who would make good evening guests etc. don’t over stretch yourselves for the sake of keeping everyone happy!

Start looking at and visiting venues

be that local or further afield like me!

Think about the roles you would like those around you to play

 bridesmaids, groomsmen, best men etc. have a rough idea of who you would like them to be and get them involved in some of your ideas – share the burden as much as you can and start planning in “wedmin” dates where you can pour over Pinterest and start planning cute ideas!

I am going to put these into a cute graphic so they are easier and more accessible – some of the ones you find online aren’t as helpful or are really broad!
As someone living the reality of Wedding planning, these are tips I am living by right now!
