Lockdown Date Night Ideas
Welcome to day 2847573 of lockdown in the UK. Some of us (me) have been ok with being stuck at home – my job have been amazing and I was allowed to work from home long before lockdown was announced and we worked hard for years on our home to make it perfect for us – in fact, it’s a bloody pleasure to enjoy some time at home for once. However, lockdown is difficult for many and lots of you guys aren’t as lucky as me. The loneliness is really starting to kick in – Lord knows that I am missing my mum and sisters ridiculous amounts. Not to mention those (like my incredible best friend) is locked down solo and unable to see her family or her other half. It’s a stinker. So, I’ve come up with some brilliant ideas for Lockdown Date Night Ideas to help bring you and your loved ones together!
Lockdown Date Night Ideas For Couples Apart

Skype Dinner Date
Technology and video calling/chatting has transformed the loneliness for many since the Covid outbreak and with things like Skype, House Party and Facetime, you can beat the creeping loneliness easily.
If you are and your other half are stuck apart, why not plan a romantic Skype date night. You can cook your respective meal together and hang out via video. You can then sit down together with your camera facing you front on as if you are one on one in a restaurant setting. You can toast each other with you chosen drink and catch up as if you are together in real time. You can even share the same bought dessert!
Have a quiz night on House Party
House Party has revolutionised connecting during the outbreak. Everyone and their mum have the app and you can jump into anyone’s party easily! As a couple, why not plan a quiz night with the two of you flying solo or with fellow estranged couple pals. You can even go the whole hog and dress up or make it themed! The giggles will have you forgetting the scary real world for a few hours!
Phone Sex
So, you can’t be together physically but that doesn’t have to stop you from enjoying the chemistry and fireworks of your relationship. Simply, take it back to the old school and enjoy some naughty phone sex. It might feel cringey at first but you’ll soon get into the swing of being intimate over the phone or video!
Send gifts in the post
Be it a voucher for your lover’s favourite take out restaurant or a personalised Moonpig card, everyone loves receiving gifts. Loads of small, independent businesses now depend on us consumers to use them to show our loved ones that we’re thinking of them. You can send blooms and flowers easily with Bloom & Wild, delicious food with Deliveroo and even weekend snack boxes with Not On The Highstreet!

Lockdown Date Night Ideas For Couples Together
Order a Take Away & Forget About the World
Even when we’re not in lockdown, my man and I like to have one night “in” a month with our favourite take away food, a bottle of wine and comfy clothes. We love nothing more than ordering our favourite take out (usually a Chinese) and getting snuggled up on the sofa.
Now that we are in lockdown, independent and small businesses are depending on us more than ever – and I will certainly support the lovely local take away restaurants in Windsor, most of whom are family owned!
Go For A Walk
As of right now, we are each allowed out once a day for exercise. And as long as you are practising safe social distancing with people from outside of your house, you can stroll to your hearts content together. Fresh air and a change of scenery is so important right now for our mental health to help us reconnect with other halves and the natural world around us. You don’t need to trek for miles, simply a loop around your local park can be enough to bring you together!
Have A Games Night
I don’t know about you, but I love games like Monopoly and Cludeo. They are some people’s idea of hell but you can always jazz up a boring game night with silly forfeits or drinking games added on top.
Game night in the LR house right now looks like Beer Pong to start, Pub Quizzes from YouTube and then some Guess The Intro or other music related quizzes!
Create An At-Home Spa
My man secretly loves a pamper, he will deny this to his dying day but, believe me, he loves it when he gets a cheeky massage and an MOT from me. It doesn’t have to be anything too elaborate, simply get out your nail polishes – my fave right now are from Mavala’s Relax Range – get some bubbly and a foot spa and pretend you’re somewhere else, like Pennyhill Park or the Nirvana Spa!
Do Some Role Playing
OK, hear me out on this one. As some of you may be aware, my 9-5 Monday to Friday job is in online dating. Fun but completely wild. However, working in an industry such as this helps to lift the veil on things like the longevity of relationships, how best to spice them up and what can give chemistry and kick start. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been with my amazing man for over 8 years and things are allll good with us, we’re lucky enough to be a good match and he’s got the patience of a saint. But that doesn’t mean that being stuck at home together in our comfies all day doesn’t mean that we need to shake things up every so often.
So, why not give role playing a go? It doesn’t have to be anything crazy, you could simply buy a sexy little number from somewhere like Ann Summers and Pour Moi (great for big boobs, FYI) and play at being naughty for one night only.. every week until the end of lockdown!
Guys, the reality is, this lockdown doesn’t look like it’s going to end any time soon and we have to make the best of it where we can. I hope that any and all of you know that I am here if you want a chat – even if it’s to ask about my day job and to take your mind off of everything going on out there!
Try some of my ideas and let me know how you get on – good, bad or hilarious, I’m all ears!
