Make A Weeknight Bath Pure Bliss With Salt Shack

The nights are rolling in, the weather has turned and evenings out are not an option for me right now. Autumn is here in all of her beauty and I am happy to embrace nights in, long reading sessions of my book at home and the slower pace of life. This month, I’ve been working with Salt Shack on how to create the ultimate weeknight bubble bath. Get your fluffiest robe ready, a melodic playlist, and your current book on the go – it’s time to run the bath and soak away the stresses of 2021.

Get The Best Bath Salts

Salt Shack is my go-to for the best bath salts for every long, hot bubble bath! They have so many different scents, flavours and uses and I always turn to them for a long weeknight soak.

A good bath salt is your key to having the best kind of soak while you relax. It also gives you a good reason to lie in the water for longer than five minutes – you need to let the salts dissolve and work their magic.

My Top Salt Shack Picks

Cherry Dreams is my go to. For some reason, I love the scent and flavour of cherry at the moment. I don’t know if reminds me of holidays gone by or flavours of a special time in my life or what!? But Cherry Dreams bath salts are my favourite from the range.

I I love the fruity and cocktail inspired ranges from Salt Shack, they give me tropical vibes that I love when I’m imaging I’m in a hot tub on holiday.

The Mint Magic is a great add on to this range. It’s super fresh and bright without being too, well, stingy. If you know, you know!

Unfortunately, being a pregnant person means that I am unable to use these salts for the foreseeable. My husband has very much enjoyed using them on my behalf – in fact, I’ve had a play by play of how great they are, how his muscles have felt better and which one is his favourite. Perks of being a bloggers’ husband, eh?

Lose Yourself To A Good Book

Life is bloody hectic. My days never look the same and I’m often running around trying to tick things off my to-do list. It’s rare that I have any blank brain time. It’s always ticking away, thinking of what’s next, portioning up my time and planning for what is ahead.

The only way for me to turn my brain off is to get into a good book. A book that sucks you in from the moment you open it and one that begs you to turn the page will have you looking like a red prune in no time.

Right now, my reading material varies from parenting guides, baby name books and thrillers. My favourite genre is crime and I’m currently hooked on the Dan Brown Da Vinci books – you can lose hours to them!

Invest In A Hair Mask

I guess you’re getting the impression that I don’t sit still for very long – and if I do, I’m stuck behind my laptop writing and creating for hours at a time. It’s feast or famine.

So, when I want a proper midweek switch off, I treat my hair to a mask while I’m stuck in one place.

My Top Hair Mask Recomendations

Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector

Pure Hydrate Superfood Mask

Miracle Moist Hair Conditioner Deep Treatment – this is the one I use all the time and you can feel it working instantly!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Deep-Conditioning Treatment

Make Time For A Sheet/Face Mask

Back when I first started working from home, I prioritised my own self care. Lots of that started in my skincare. Needless to say, I’ve continued to get busier and busier (which I am super grateful for) but my skincare regime has slipped.

This means no sheet masks between calls, no face saunas on my lunch break and no facials to treat myself after a successful month. This is a travesty, I’m cross with myself for letting it slip.

That’s why I allow myself some much-needed skin time in my weekly bath.

Here are my favourite masks for a midweek pamper:

GLOW Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask x

Beauty Brightening Instant Facial

Silkmud Pink French Clay Sheet Mask

Anti Blemish Bio Cellulose Facial Mask

Get Your Comfiest PJs Out

Who wants to get out of a deliciously relaxing bath just to get into scratchy and annoying PJs and feel uncomfortable? Not me, that’s who!

The best thing to do after a long hot bath is to pick your fluffiest, snuggliest PJs to slip into. Then get into bed and put reruns of Bake Off on to drift off to!

Enjoy your midweek soak, you deserve it!
