Skincare Trends For Summer 2024

Skincare is firmly back in my content and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had so much lovely feedback since dipping my toe back into the world of skincare and skincare post partum, so thank you!

Can you believe it’s already the Summer? The weather may be on and off and more rainy than we’d prefer but we are certainly in Summer. Caring for your skin is important no matter the time of year, but if you’re looking to show off that glow, the right aesthetics treatments and skincare routines can really pack a punch. So, what do you need to do?
Whether you’re a seasoned skincare junkie like me or just dipping your toes into the world of radiant skin, I’ve got what’s hot this season. So grab your sunscreen and let’s dive in!

Glass Skin

First up, let’s talk about the trend that’s been making waves all over social media: glass skin. Glass skin is simply skin so smooth and reflective it looks like glass! This trend is all about achieving that flawless, luminous complexion that practically glows from within.

It’s easier to achieve than ever, thanks to innovative skincare products like serums infused with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, as well as gentle exfoliants to remove dead skin cells and reveal that radiant glow underneath.

DIY Skincare

Another skincare craze that’s been popping up everywhere is DIY skincare. With more people spending time at home, there’s been a surge in interest in creating homemade remedies using natural ingredients like honey, avocado, and coconut oil. From DIY face masks to homemade scrubs, there’s no shortage of recipes to try out. Plus, it’s a fun way to pamper yourself and experiment with different ingredients to find what works best for your skin.

SPF

Of course, no summer skincare routine would be complete without addressing sun protection. With temperatures rising and days spent soaking up the sun in the garden, at the beach or by the pool, it’s more important than ever to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. That means slathering on sunscreen with a high SPF every day, rain or shine, and reapplying regularly, especially if you’re spending extended periods of time outdoors. And don’t forget to protect your lips with a lip balm containing SPF as well!

Microcurrent facials

One treatment that’s been gaining popularity is microcurrent facials. These non-invasive treatments use low-level electrical currents to stimulate the muscles in your face, helping to tone and tighten your skin for a more youthful appearance. It’s like a workout for your face, minus the sweat! I have experienced this facial and it was a great excuse for a pamper. I saw results quickly and felt great!

LED Light Therapy

Another treatment that’s been generating buzz is LED light therapy. This cutting-edge technology uses different wavelengths of light to target various skin concerns, from acne and inflammation to fine lines and wrinkles. It’s a gentle, pain-free way to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin, with no downtime required.

Skin Hydration

As the temperatures rise, it’s crucial to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized to prevent dryness and flakiness. Look for lightweight, water-based moisturizers that won’t clog your pores or feel greasy on your skin. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin glowing from the inside out.

Whether you’re striving for glass skin, experimenting with DIY remedies, or indulging in the latest skincare treatments, there’s no shortage of ways to achieve that radiant summer glow. Remember to listen to your skin’s needs and tailor your routine accordingly, and don’t be afraid to try something new. After all, the journey to healthy, glowing skin is all about finding what works best for you.

SPF is an absolute must for me, as it should be for everyone! Luckily my moisturiser is SPF 50 and I apply it twice a day. Lately a really basic skincare routine of just cleanser & moisturiser has been suiting my skin 🙂 x
