Thank You Midwives on International Day of the Midwife
International Day of the Midwife is Sunday May 5th 2024. As a mum who has experienced incredible midwife care, I couldn’t let this day pass without expressing my deepest gratitude and admiration for them. May 5th marks a special day dedicated to honouring the dedication, compassion, and hard work of midwives. From the moment we find out we’re expecting, to the beautiful journey of pregnancy, childbirth, and beyond, midwives play an invaluable role in our lives.

Appreciate the amazing work of midwives within the NHS and organizations like the NCT (National Childbirth Trust). NCT provides essential support and guidance to mothers-to-be and new mums.
Thank you NHS
Let’s talk about the NHS. As a mum, I am endlessly thankful for the NHS and the incredible midwives who work tirelessly within it. From pregnancy to postnatal care, their expertise and compassion provide vital support during this life-changing journey.
NCT
NCT is also key! This wonderful organization offers a wealth of resources, classes, and support networks for expectant parents. NCT midwives offer invaluable advice and reassurance, from antenatal classes to breastfeeding support, every step of the way.
I undertook NCT classes in the final weeks of my pregnancy. It was invaluable because it introduced me to my now best Mum friends while also equipping us with what we need to know about what was ahead. Read about my thoughts on NCT further, here.

My experience
When I was pregnant with my little one, I was fortunate to have the most incredible team of midwives supporting me. From answering my endless questions to providing emotional support during labour, their presence was like a reassuring hug throughout my journey into motherhood.
I’ll never forget the kindness, patience, and expertise they showed, not just to me and my husband, but to countless other mums and families they care for every day. Their dedication and passion for their work truly make the world a better place.
Thank you midwives!
So, on this International Day of the Midwife, I want to say a massive thank you to all the midwives out there. Thank you for your hard work, your compassion, and your unwavering commitment to providing the best possible care for moms and babies.
To all the midwives reading this, please know that you are appreciated more than words can express. Your work is nothing short of miraculous, and you make a difference in the lives of so many families each and every day.
