What’s the best way to learn about skincare?
Skincare and LoveRosiee go hand in hand. After so many years as an active blogger, skincare is what I am passionate about and I love nothing more than being able to share my skincare insights with my lovely audience! As we are still in lockdown, I wanted to take some time to share blog posts answering some of the questions that I get asked a lot – what’s the best way to learn about skincare?

Skincare Basics
Whether you’re a curious pre-teen, a girl in your twenties looking at prevention of early signs of ageing or someone in your Autumn years looking to jazz up your skincare, common sense with skincare is where we start.
The basics of skincare come from knowing what your skin needs, how it reacts and how best to treat it, soothe it and make it look its best. You should already know a bit about your skin but let’s break it down!
Skin Types
You’ll probably already recognise some of the following ideas on skin types – identifying them for yourself and the skin on your face and neck can help massively!
Normal Skin Type
People with this kind of skin don’t usually get dry or overly oily skin. Pores are usually average sized and don’t become engorged or clogged to easily. Normal skin types are usually blemish free and blessed with few fine lines and wrinklesDry Skin Type
The clue is in the name with this one – this skin type means that you suffer from dry skin. It may not be all over and it may be in patches across your face, eyes and neck. You may be patchy and flaky in places too. Skin may get irritated and may wrinkle prematurelyOily Skin Type
Unlike dry skin type, oily is the opposite. Your pores are often larger and can be filled easily with dirt and build up. Oily skin can often have a sheer look and owners of this type can often be found blotting their skin and using non-greasy formulasCombination Skin Type – what I suffer from!
Luckily for me, combination skin often collides all the worst parts of dry and oily skin types. Combination skin types are often patchy on some places with flakes and irritation and then oily and built up in others. This skin type is the most common – so if you are like me, welcome to a very busy club!

Products
First and foremost, there is no miracle product for your skin – any skin! As a skincare blogger, I am fortunate enough to try out many different brands, types and lotions & potions all the time – less so now that we are in lockdown but still, I’ve only got on face and these creams often last a long time!
I’ve found some brilliant wins in brands such as ARK Skincare – their formulas are tailor made for people of all ages. As a female just shy of turning 28, I am now in the time of preventing any early signs of ageing. ARK have a brilliant formula that is soothing and super buildable which means that it is easy to use and easy to see the results!

I also use Antipodes A LOT for my skincare – their skincare is super luxurious and scientifically proven to help plump skin and leave it feeling youthful! They have many different ranges, creams, lotion and potions so it’s quite easy to find a combination that works for you!

Rabot 1745 have been a game changer with regard to scented and infused skincare for me in recent months. This brand infuses all of their skincare with cocoa from St. Lucia. I usually stay away from anything overly scented or perfumed as the dry areas on my skin can take badly to them – however Rabot has not caused that problem at all!

The PMD cleanser also massively helped my skin and skincare routine. Having a gadget such as this means that you can scrub build up areas while still being gentle. This cleanser brush has loads of plastic knobs that vibrate at over 7,000 vibrations a second – perfect for nudging away dirt and for encouraging blood to the surface and collagen kick-in!
Health
The best way to learn about your skincare and improve your skin is to look inwards at your own internal health. Your health is important to the way you feel and the way you look.
If your diet is filled with sugary treats, too many take aways and not enough water, your face will be a mirror to that.
If you eat fresh fruit and vegetables, drink plenty of fluids and enjoy the occasional treat, your skin will glow!
Being healthy is such a key part to feeling and looking good!

I hope I’ve helped answer loads of questions that come with skincare, stay tuned for more for me to answer all of your skincare questions!
