AD – 5 Events To Look Forward To This Autumn

AD

Autumn is officially upon us. The evenings are drawing in, the temperature is starting to get more fresh and my wardrobe is ready for an overhaul of blanket scarves, woolly tights and rain jackets. I, for one, love Autumn. Yes, I am summer bean through and through but Autumn holds so much excitement; it’s a season of transition, reflection and change. Today’s post is all about the best things to look forward to in Autumn. Believe me, it was tough drilling it down to only 5, but they’re five of the BEST events to look forward to this Autumn!

Rugby’s Back!

The Autumn Internationals are a highlight in my Autumn diary, let me tell you!

My fiance is rugby mad and every Autumn we get dressed up in our favourite team shirts, head down to the local, a marquee in our town and even the live games when we are lucky enough to get tickets!

Rugby is a great sport to watch, even if you’re a bit rusty on the rules like me. Unlike other sports, rugby is a gentleman’s game and you won’t find yourself stood at the bar next to someone getting rowdy and aggressive. The sport itself is great for oggling (hello thighs) and the craic is half the fun.

The internationals give fans all over the world the chance to compete against each other – so no matter where you’re watching it, you’re sure to find a team to support.

My ideal Saturday in Autumn: bundling up in wellies, scarves and hats with my England rugby shirt, walking down to the pub, ordering a hot chocolate and a pint of Guinness and singing the chants and songs until it’s time to come home!

Fulham’s Oktoberfest

If you love dressing up, drinking all day, singing songs and having a laugh with your mates, you NEED to go Fulham’s Oktoberfest this Autumn.

I, myself, tick all of those boxes.

What’s better than a pre-Christmas get together with pals you only see on the odd occasion? You can travel to London together or meet there and drink and sing the day away.

Oktoberfest is one of my favourite Autumn days out. I like to go to different pubs and German hidden gems across London with my friends for a good knees up. With the Fulham ‘Fest, you can do all of that under one roof! No need to do extra travel, lose friends between pubs or get annoyed that you can’t find a seat when your feet get tired!

Party At The Top of The Shard

Is there anything better than an aerial view of London at sundown? Autumn’s clear and crisp nights make sight seeing even better and being all bundled up in coats, sipping on hot chocolate makes it all worth it.

This Autumn, you can party as the sun goes down on London while you dance and laugh at the top of the Shard. Not one for the faint hearted but a cool Autumn night out for everyone!

The tickets are a little pricey but you get exclusive use of the roof and the ability to boogie the night away with DJ Max Tyler.

I’d save this one for a post-lockdown reunion or a big milestone birthday night out – anyone turning 30 this Autumn?

Make It Funny

Right before the pandemic hit, I bought my man tickets to the Comedy Club in London. Obviously, that never got to happen and it’s one of those nights we’ve always wanted to do.

Well, this Autumn, you can laugh yourself silly at the Backyard Comedy Club in Brick Lane.

We all need a laugh after a long old slog, don’t we? At the Backyard Comedy Club, you can laugh your little socks off, enjoy cocktails and nibble on great bar food with pals.

Go Immersive

The theatres have been shut for the longest time. Actors, actresses and producers had to get creative with the way in which we enjoy their productions in a new COVID, social distancing and safe way.

One of the best things to come out of the pandemic, in my opinion, is more immersive theatre experiences where you can join the cast, set and set up while also being set a task, drinking and enjoying the fun of it all.

London has soo many cool immersive experiences like Alcatraz, Cowboys and Murder Mysteries. Forget the boring mysteries your nan and grandad used to go to – these are a whole new level of fun, immersion and experience.

This Autumn, you can book yourself into Alcatraz prison, make cocktails and try to escape. You could jump into a modern murder mystery, sip cocktails and solve the crime.
