King Charles III Coronation Comes To Royal Windsor
On Saturday May 6th 2023, King Charles III will be coronated along with Queen Consort Camilla at Westminster Abbey, London. While the official service will be held by the Archbishop of Canterbury in London, my beautiful home town of Windsor will be host to plenty of festive fun, activities and celebrations. As a proud Windsorian, I’m excited to take you through how you can celebrate on my doorstep!
The Official Service
Buckingham Palace has released a statement telling us that the ceremony will reflect the new monarch in his role today while also looking towards a bright future. The new monarchy will continue to be deeply rooted in their longstanding traditions and pageantry as they step into a new era.
The coronation weekend will begin on Saturday 6th May to Monday 8th May. This weekend long celebration will allow everyone to come together and celebrate this historical occasion!
What’s Officially Happening In Windsor?
Windsor is my hometown. I have lived here all of my life, barring the few years I spent away at University. Both myself and my husband are Windsor born and bred and we are immensely proud to call this beautiful town our home.
Windsor is home to the glorious Windsor Castle – a favourite home among many Royals. It’s also home to Frogmore Cottage, The Long Walk, The Crown Estate and The Royal Farm Shop.
My home town is a royalist’s dream.
On Sunday 7th May, a special coronation concert will be held and broadcast live at Windsor Castle by the BBC. So far, acts performing include Lionel Ritchie, Katy Perry, Take That, Andrea Bocelli and many more.

What Else Is Happening?
On the same day, The Coronation Big Lunch will be held around the country. People are encouraged to organise street parties, get together with neighbours and chat over garden fences. The King wants this Big Lunch to be a chance for communities to come together and celebrate a new future as one.

Coronation Afternoon Tea at De Vere Beaumont House
Nothing says quintessentially British quite like afternoon tea, does it?
The beautiful Beaumont House located just next to Elton John’s house in Old Windsor are hosting special coronation themed afternoon tea in their incredible grounds.
With a wide selection of teas, sweet treats and yummy sandwiches, this is the perfect way to indulge in a bit of royal life. Take a group of girls, get dressed up the nines and upgrade your afternoon tea to add champagne.
Additionally, sip your bubbles in the beautiful gardens and watch the coronation on subtle screens around this glorious hotel.
Windsor & Eton Brewery
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that my little family and I spend a LOT of time at the Windsor & Eton Brewery. We love their beers, the tap room is family friendly with lots of fun events on like live music, bingo and beer tastings.
Celebrate King Charles’ coronation in style in Windsor by visiting my favourite haunt: The Windsor & Eton brewery. Sample their brand new & exclusive beer Return of the King. Taste their delicious food while watching the entire procession on their huge screens.
Totally family & pet friendly, this is where we plan on celebrating this historical day for our town and country!
The Runnymede on Thames
If you want luxury but privacy and peace away from the crowds, a visit to the Runnymede on Thames is all yours. You can enjoy the entire coronation on screens in their gorgeous gardens and along the river Thames. Sip champagne and toast to the new monarchy while eating afternoon tea and soaking up the spring sun.
Take their shuttle into Windsor town centre and take part in local festivities and then hop back to the hotel to the spa and relax.
Themed Afternoon Tea At Savill Garden
Savill Garden is one of our favourite spots for sunny picnics, beautiful walks and couple time with and without the baby. We spend a lot of time in this Gardens and the incredible shop and restaurant – especially since Jack has been born.
In the heart of Windsor Great Park, you’ll feel like royalty with their beautifully themed Coronation Afternoon Tea. Perfectly British in gorgeous surroundings – you can bring the kids and their bikes and let them run themselves tired while you enjoy feeling like royalty!
Take a wonder through the Golden Jubilee Garden and the Rose Garden – two of my favourites!
Why not book a carriage ride and go on horseback through the Long Walk?
